For Israeli Android users, movie names are displayed in transliteration.

Hello, my name is Evyatar Cohen.

As a user of an Android phone, I am experiencing an issue with the Hebrew version of the website.

Occasionally, movie names will be displayed in Hebrew transliteration when the following conditions are met: 1. Using an Android phone. 2. The location is Israel. 3. Not logged in. However, once I sign in, they appear in English. Movie names on computers are automatically displayed in English.

The majority of Hebrew speakers would prefer to see movie titles in English rather than transliteration.

Is there any possibility of fixing it?

Evyatar.

@evyatar100  Thanks for the screenshots.  This is an interesting situation which has not been reported before and could be local to your specific set-up.  Things to try:

1. Using the language menu in the upper right corner of the page, change the language away from “EN” and check that the page updates to the chosen language, then switch back to “EN” and let us know what happens -> https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/imdbcom/imdb-now-available-in-more-languages/620a9f13fbc70347370a1b3b

2. Are you using any ad blocking software on your phone?  If so, please see https://help.imdb.com/article/imdb/general-information/why-is-imdb-displaying-differently-on-my-browser/GF2ZAR69V859XLHF?ref_=helpart_nav_24#

3. What happens with other browsers on the same device?  Do you have a local friend with another Android phone — are they seeing the same issues?

4. How does https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0942385/ look vs. your example above? [ie: using www.imdb.com vs. m.imdb.com, which is being phased out]

If this does not solve the issue, please let us know:

  1. Device Model
  2. Browser version number
  3. Android OS version number

Hope this helps.
