Why was my film rated so poorly.
My film, Never Mime, has been rated 1.8 out of 10. I sincerely don't believe that out of 47 reviews, 41 of them gave it a single star. This little film was selected and won awards at several world wide film fests. I never met one person that didn't like it. It was even reviewed publicly and given high praise. I believe that one person may have used different e-mails to leave the 41 bad reviews., or maybe it is a mistake from IMDB. Other than film fests, its only been watched 24 times on YouTube, the only place it is shown, so I wonder where these reviews came from. I really doubt people left film fests and took the trouble to leave my film the worst rating possible. How can I research where these bad reviews came from? They seriously don't make sense. It is a silly little film, but truly doesn't deserve 1 star.

We are aware that there are people who may vote for the sole purpose of trying to inflate/deflate the rating for a movie. We have several safeguards in place to automatically detect and defeat this type of ballot stuffing: even though we count and display all unaltered votes in the rating breakdown, we apply several countermeasures against all attempts to skew the rating for the weighted rating you see displayed on the site. We will review the title in question to ensure that the weighted average is displaying as intended.

I do not see how you can possibly research where the bad reviews came from. How could you? If IMDb revealed the email addresses of those who gave you a low rating, then these sort of things would spiral out of control and go down rabbit holes. But it's definitely a possibility that one hateful person could have used different emails... but why would someone go to such an extreme? What a waste of time.

I just watched this on Vimeo. I don't understand why people give 1 star, I don't think I've ever given a film 1 star.
I'd have been interested to see the reviews, though I see the rating bombing is still in evidence, with 42 one star votes.
Obviously people can vote what they want to, but with such a large number on such a small rating amount, it's pretty clear it's been targeted for whatever unknown reason.
Hopefully some of these ratings can be removed.

I have just watched it on youtube, I bet most of those giving 1/10 did not watch it at all. Probably some troll(s) just wanted to make the average poor, no idea why tho. Maybe some angry neighbour? :P
