Why are only some of my approved language contribution posted on IMDb?

My guess is you have added the languages to specific episodes, so they will not appear on the series page.

Hi @Maatamun_0303,

I can confirm that the above submissions have all been approved for publication, none of the items within those submissions were declined.

I hope this helps!

Yes I know, that they have all been approved, but they are not to be seen on the site: If you look up the movie titles on your page and check out the visible information given in the language sections, my contributions do not appear. Example: "Unité 42 language: French" but there is no mention of "Belgian sign language". But the series is bilingual with both spoken French and spoken Belgian sign language. My guess is that someone has approved all my contributions but simply forgot to edit the page.

Hi @Maatamun_0303 -

I can confirm that the entirety of your Language submissions were approved, however, if I recall we currently don't display language attributes.  I filed a ticket (#P101288228) with the appropriate team to confirm, as soon as I have the details I will update you here.

The statement: "we currently don't display language attributes" is false. Here is why: If anyone search the title "Move to heaven" we will all read this: "Language: Korean, Korean sign Language" after my approved contribution. In contrast to the titles "Unité 42" and "Mai". Both before and after my approved contributions, we will still read: "Language: French" and "Language: Hindi". If it's because IMDb has a problem with sign languages that still doesn't suffice as a good justification. Here is why: If anyone search the title: "Baegabondeu" we will all read this: "Languages: "Korean, Spanish, Arabic, English" this has nothing to do with me. But both before and after my approved contribution to the title "Top Boys", we can only read: "Language: English". Conclusion: We are all allowed to read, that "Move to heaven" is bilingual, but we are not allowed to read the same information about "Unité 42" and neither about "Mai". Also are we all allowed to read, that "Baegabondeu" is quadrilingual, but we are not allowed to read, that "Top Boys" is trilingual. Apart from etnicity and in the latter case sender, what are the differences? As for you guess Peter_pnb: The contribution ticket asks to be filled out with specific episodes. Not just for language contributions but for any kind of contribution tickets, and since I am methodical and systematic about any little thing I do - contributing to IMDb og anything else - it's 99 % unlikely that I have filled out my contribution tickets in different ways. But my contribution history can't verify exactly how I filled out my contribution tickets. I can, however conclude that my contribution tickets on "Move to Heaven" and "Unité 42" are sent on the same day. Both have been approved. "Move to Heaven" has been updated, "Unité 42" has not.

If you select episodes in the form on the series page, the data will be added to those episodes and not to the series page. This is admittedly not made clear in the form.

For example, this episode has "Sign Languages"

"Unité 42" (2017) {Blogomum - part 1 (#2.1)}

This episode has Arabic

"La víctima número 8" (2018) {Omar (#1.1)}

So, if I wished it to be visible on the series page, I should refill a contribution ticket with "season 1" instead of each episode with numbers? And that could possibly be for the same reason why some om my other approved contributions on other subjects - like goofs, crazy edits or trivia - are missing from different series pages? Because if so, it makes sense to me now - and you are very helpful and kind.

To submit to the series page, just leave the episode field blank.

Hi @Maatamun_0303  & All -

I'm circling back to confirm that we intentionally do not display language attributes at this time.  Jogging my memory, there is an open Idea thread tracking this display request, I encourage you to add your vote to the existing Idea thread for staff visibility.
