What does IMDb have against the language Shipibo?

Please see this eight (!) year old thread: https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/data-issues-policy-discussions/please-add-the-shipibo-language-to-the-database/5f4a7ae28815453dbabfa6bc Also, see these posts about the languages Mixtec (https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/data-issues-policy-discussions/add-mixtec-language-for-roma-2018/5f4a79fb8815453dba943376) and Chamorro (https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/data-issues-policy-discussions/chamorro-is-not-listed-as-a-language-option/61d0ed52add924150d18d84b). Obviously, you know there are more language requests out there. How do you want to be an international database if you don't add languages that were used in certain titles?

Marco: I notice that Mixtec is listed in the advanced search form under Languages, and there are titles in the database with it listed (most notably Roma (2018)). It is also available when submitting a language for a title. Shipibo is listed there on the advanced search page too, although I don't see any titles with that language listed. On the other hand, Shipibo is not listed when submitting a language for a title. By contrast, Chamorro is available to submit as a language to a title, but it doesn't show up in the advanced search. So I think the staff needs to coordinate how this works. Any language that appears when you try to submit a language should also appear on the advanced search page -- and vice versa. Currently, Shipibo and Chamorro each appear in one of those lists but not the other. These lists need to be linked so that a new language only has to be added to one list, not two, because apparently that's not being done correctly.

@gromit82 Unfortunately, Shipibo can't be added to titles. It's not listed in the dropdown menu attached to titles, even though it is listed in the dropdown menu found on the advanced search menu. For Chamorro, things are the other way around: the language can be added to titles, but is not listed in the dropdown menu on the advanced search. There seem to be two lists of languages. For Chamorro, it might be because it has been added recently, but the same is not the situation for Shipibo: https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/data-issues-policy-discussions/please-add-the-shipibo-language-to-the-database/5f4a7ae28815453dbabfa6bc?commentId=614f5e8715d633340fdea059

Any language that appears when you try to submit a language should also appear on the advanced search page -- and vice versa. Obviously, I couldn't agree more. Perhaps a staffer will explain. Or not.
