Solved

Voice Actor credits correctly submitted blocked on just one profile. Please fix whatever is blocking submissions correctly made.

A few years ago all of my Audio Description Voice Actor credits were removed.  Since then when I've tried to add my credits following your own guidelines under Voice Actor Dubbing in your new credit categories  - "2 e. Audio Description Voice Actor (use Additional Crew)"   - they are rejected as "unable to verify".  However, when I add the exact same credit in the same manner for other audio description voice actor colleagues, they are approved immediately.    Here are examples of identical manner of submissions on the same day where mine are rejected #260425-115731-513000 and the others are approved #260425-121939-627000    Another example - mine rejected #260425-120017-707000, other approved #260425-121053-730000.

I've reached out to find out why and no one will address why my credits are treated differently than those of my colleagues.

I learned that about 3 years ago someone linked my page here saying my credits should be removed because IMDB doesn't allow audio description voice actor credits. That's when they disappeared and since that day it appears there's a block or flag or possibly a technical issue preventing my AD credits from being added.

I've followed the submission guidelines for Audio Description Voice Actor credits - placing them in Additional Crew as indicated (screenshot below) yet they continue to be rejected.  I've been told to upload screenshots but since the vast majority of AD credits are audio only - just like podcasts - screenshots are non-existent.  And again, only my credits are rejected as "unable to verify" while everyone else's are approved without screenshots.  In the past I've provided links to the audio credits yet they're still rejected.

In addition, IMDB guidelines under "Evidence for Credit Removals" (screenshot below)  say "Deletion requests rejected as Unable to verify, mean our data editors believe the information is factual and as such shouldn't be removed."

According to this update my credits should not  have been removed and they shouldn't continue to be blocked now as this goes against IMDB's own guidelines stating credits rejected as unable to verify shouldn't be removed.  So why is my profile being treated differently from all others?

I'm hoping someone can  look into my profile and see if there is a technical issue, a flag or a block and fix whatever is preventing AD credits from being added to my page, restore the credits that were removed and allow me to add my credits going forward in the same manner as that all of my other AD performer colleagues.

Hi MEx,

Thank you for your problem report.

I can see that your recent contributions have indeed been processed incorrectly, and as a result I have raised this with the appropriate team for review. These processing errors should no longer occur, but please do let us know if you encounter any further issues. I therefore recommend you proceed to re-submit any credits that were declined recently, and you should see these contributions approved going forward.

I hope this helps!

@Ozzy Thank you for your quick response.

I just re-submitted a couple of credits.  I'm concerned they'll be declined again because they show as pending - estimated to be processed tomorrow 6/4.  But in all other cases when I've added credits for other people they're approved immediately - never pending. When I add mine they always show as pending and then a day or two later are declined.   #260603-141912-786000  and #260603-142453-674000 were just submitted.

Does it take a while for this to be fixed? How long should I wait before re-submitting? There are quite a few - this goes back a few years over which they've been declined.

Thank you!

@MEx - Hi! I can see that these have already been approved and the changes will be live shortly.

For future references, depending on several factors, submissions might take longer to be processed than others which is why you might see some appear immediately while others do not.

If you want to follow the status on the data being processed, you are welcome to review our Data Processing Times page.

@Maya @Ozzy - thank you to both of you!

I'll start adding the rest of my credits - there are many that go back at least 6 or 7 years.  I better get started.  :)

I really appreciate your help with this.  It was so frustrating!

@Maya @Ozzy

I added almost 50 credits yesterday going back years.  Today they are all declined.

It seems to be clear that there is something automatically declining all of my audio description credits in spite of my submitting them correctly and according to the guidelines as you've both confirmed.  Again, it's only my credits that are rejected. None of my other audio description voice actor colleagues credits are rejected.  Is this a technical glitch or is there a flag or something on my account? Can you approve the credits I added yesterday and please look into what is rejecting all of my credits?  Thank you.

@Ozzy  Duplicating this message to make sure you're tagged on it as well. :)  The two credits I submitted after you responded were approved within a couple of hours but the close to 50 credits I submitted after that are all declined.

@Maya @Ozzy

I wanted to follow up on this from a couple of weeks ago. After I was told the processing errors should no longer occur, the first two I resubmitted were approved quickly (as were those I had submitted for other people)  but once I submitted the rest they were all rejected again.  Were you able to look into the glitch or see if my account was inadvertantly flagged for some reason? This has been going on for a few years now and it's frustrating to see identical submissions for all of my colleagues quickly approved while mine are all rejected.

Thank you

@MEx - Hi again!

We have looked into it and resetted the flag on your account. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused in the meantime.

As mentioned above, you can proceed to re-submit any other credits that were declined recently. If you are submitting credits, we suggest that if you have supporting evidence as stated on this guideline, please add it. Further instructions on how to add them can be found on the guideline.

As per the submissions you shared above, we are still reviewing them and we'll post below once we have further information.

@Maya

Hi Maya,  How do I submit the audio credits? They are spoken credits like those in podcasts.

And I see this says submitting contracts will work - but why do others' credits get approved when I submit them and I don't submit anything with them?

@MEx - You can submit the link to the podcast or if you have the contract as well.

For your question, there are several factors and checks that go into our submission review process. While some data can be verified and approved quickly, other submissions may require additional verification before they can be processed.This means approvals don't always happen simultaneously, it's not an indication that anything is wrong with your submission, simply that different types of data go through different levels of review and some data may require additional evidence.

@Maya  It's not a podcast - it's audio description but I've submitted audio links before.  You have to login to the streamer and enable the AD.  I've submitted with the timecodes previously and they've been rejected.

Also, the submissions I've made for myself and for others are identical.  The only thing that changes is the performers name and the film/show. Everything else is identical - they're not different types of submissions or data.  For the last 3 years all of mine have been rejected and the identical submissions for others have been approved.

The two that were approved after Ozzy said my submissions had been rejected incorrectly and they should be fine going foward are identical to the 45 I submitted just a few hours later that were rejected the next day.  Why is that?

Thanks

@Maya Thanks Maya - I thought you had said you reset the flag on my account. I had taken that to mean it was removed.  Should I test it with a submission?  I'm happy to include an audio link with time code but if someone is going to listen to it they have to log into the streaming service and enable the English Audio Description.  Will they do that? It was my experience in the past when I included those time-coded links they rejected them anyway. They said they were unable to verify but I don't think they listened, because had they listened they would clearly hear the credit.   Or can I upload an audio file?  an .mp3 or .wav?  Or an .mp4 with video? I can't find a way to upload audio.

It's frustrating because I've been blocked from AD submissions for 3 years while everyone else's go through and now it's been weeks since I was told it was corrected and yet after spending hours re-submitting they were all rejected weeks ago.

@MEx - Yes, as we mentioned before the flag was reset. You can go ahead and make submissions. If you have supporting evidence/links you can submit them as well.

I'll do one or two right now.  Is there a way to upload .mp3's with the credits?  I'll add the links to the shows with time codes but whoever looks at them has to log into the streaming service account and enable the audio description track or they won't have access or be able to hear the show with the AD track or the credits

@Maya I just submitted for one series. I added the link to the credits and stated they need to log into the streaming service account and enable the AD track. I gave the time code where the credits are heard - and I uploaded a .pdf with the same link and instructions.

It says pending with estimated processing date of tomorrow.

This is the SAME as every single credit that has been declined.  When I upload for everyone else - without ANY links to the AD credits - they are approved within minutes. They do not say pending. They do not give a processing date.  They are immediately approved.  I'm concerned there is still a flag on my account. And I don't know how the flag got there in the first place. This all happened after someone complained 3 years that audio description credits were being added and used my profile as an example.  Since then my account has been flagged. No one else's has. I'm really hoping these will be approved but I'm getting the same message as all the others when they've been rejected.

The only two that have been approved are those that were approved with my first message here with Ozzy.

I know you said the other 45 credits that were rejected were being looked into.  Is there any update on those - and can you look into the reason that my account has been flagged and it seems it may still be flagged. Can you check please? And can YOU approve this latest submission? Maybe you can see why it's being put into the pre-rejection queue.

Thank you.

@MEx- Your account is no longer flagged, as mentioned previously.

I can see that the ones you submitted a few hours ago were already approved. You can now continue to submit any missing or new ones.

Please do not re-submit the 45 above, as we are already re-submitting them on your behalf. You will get 'duplicate' notifications if they were to be submitted again. They will be live on the site shortly once they have all been re-submitted.

@Maya Oh, fantastic!

Good to know - I won't resubmit the above 45. In fact I see a few of those have now been approved, so I'm hopefull they will all be soon!  Thank you!   I have another question.

Should I continue to include the links with time codes to the shows/films,  where they are available,  for additional submissions?  Some of the shows are no longer airing on the streamers so I don't have a working link.  When I originally submitted them a few years ago they were still airing. I may have audio in an .mp3 but I know I can't upload that.

Maybe I should add one now as a test, without a link? Should I include an explanation?

Thanks again!  I really appreciate it.

@Maya ok, just submitted one with an explanation.  And it seems to have been approved. Perfect. Sending another

For future submissions - what about theatrical releases? Some of what I do is released in theaters. There's no link for those.  I'll just note that in the submission?

Thanks again! I do appreciate all your help.

@Maya

FYI, I guess this post is about the same credits as this earlier post which was pending review.

https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/data-issues-policy-discussions/request-to-reinstate-voice-actor-credits/699902b9bcf36260abc6f2ec

I would have thought that audio description credits were only eligible if credited on screen in the regular credits of the original version, as per your credit eligibility guidelines. Those guidelines don't mention audio description, but do mention the similar "captioning etc."

This is also what was said here.

https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/data-issues-policy-discussions/credit-submissions-for-audio-description/655016ce9a86502528ed7acc

If that is not an accurate understanding, perhaps the guidelines could be updated.

@Peter_pbn See the screenshot above. 2e. The updated (Feb. 2026)  guidelines clearly state audio description credits go in Additional Crew, and that's been confirmed.  And is evidenced by the fact that all others with the same credits are approved and it was confirmed mine were processed and  incorrectly and should be fine going forward. But they're not.

That guideline could refer only to work that is credited on screen.

You and others are apparently claiming that your work was credited.

I think guideline clarifications are needed if you don't want these credits to be deleted or changed by contributors who audit credits.
