Credit submissions for audio description

What is IMDb's policy regarding credit submissions for audio description?  They are obviously not the original mix as the soundtrack is dipped with a voice over added on top.  If they are acceptable, are all of the crew positions eligible?  Crew positions include, script writers, recordists, sound editors, sound mixers, voice talent, etc.

Hi @hkpwnetd -

There are certain types of credits that we do not list unless they are specifically credited on-screen, which I believe is the case here. We do not list these credits unless the person has received an on-screen credit for their work in the original version of the title. These details may be added to the other works biography section.

Visit our help guides for more.

Cheers!

Hi @Bethanny ,

I have never seen Audio Description (AD) credits shown in the main (including "main-on-ends") credits because Audio Description is a separate audio mix which is not part of the original version (and is created after the original version is completed).  If you know of an example, can you please reference a show where you've seen AD crew listed?  I've worked on over 100 AD versions and never saw an on-screen credit on the original versions for it.

I'm making this inquiry, because I've already visited your help pages but didn't find your policy on AD.  I think an answer to the following question will straighten everything out.

Put more simply, is any IMDb credit entry is not verifiable by IMDb if the crew position does not pertain to the original version of the title?

@hkpwnetd As mentioned above if there is no credit on the original version you can add it to 'Other works' as well as other options offered for our IMDbPro users.

Thanks!

@Bethanny, I'm an IMDbPro user.  I read through the "other works" link you provided and it states "The 'other works' section is for works in media not currently listed elsewhere in the database. Examples include radio, theater, books, and audio recordings. Please do not send anything to this section that can be included in the regular database listings."  AD wouldn't be an "other work" as it's a re-version of the original version of a title in the database (it's an alternate audio mix played along with a title just a like a foreign dub which IMDb does not allow credit submissions for).

I'll be more specific with my question so you can hopefully answer with a specific and simple yes or no for clarity.

Is any IMDb credit submission for a title in your database (that doesn't qualify into the category of "other works") not verifiable by IMDb if the crew position does not pertain to the original version of the title?

@hkpwnetd From the description of job you are giving us, these are not eligible, if it was not part of the original version of the title, they cannot be listed in the filmography credits, but we will allow this work to be captured under the "Other Works". Please follow our guidelines provided before to add them properly.
