TV Commercials and credits.

I have to disagree with Daniel. In fact, television commercials are accepted into the IMDb, although it's my understanding that relatively few commercials have actually been added to the database compared to the number that have been made.

There is no difference in acceptance of titles into regular IMDb vs. IMDbPro, except that titles that are still in development (that is, not even in production yet, much less released) can only be submitted to IMDbPro. But if a commercial has been shown to the public (for example, broadcast on television), it is normally eligible for listing in the regular IMDb.

The following are the guidelines for submitting a commercial, including the title format, as stated at https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/titles/title-formatting/G56U5ERK7YY47CQB:

Commercials 
Brand: Title of advert if known (year) (V) i.e. Chanel N°5: The One That I Want (2014) (V)
Please submit as Made for Video
Please add the keywords: commercial, the brand i.e. chanel-no.-5
Connections - follows for ongoing commercial series 

By the way, I don't think there is any part of IMDb where union involvement is required for a title to be eligible. Whether it is union or not does not make a difference for acceptance.

Hi All -

To help clarify, in the past commercial titles were not eligible to be listed with a title page on the site, therefore, any subsequent commercial titles/credits could only be added to the "Other Works" section of a person's IMDb page or if they had an IMDbPro membership, the data could be listed under the "Additional Credits" unverified data section or what was once known as a "Resume" page. 

Currently, we now allow commercial titles and credits to be listed on the site, as long as the commercial title meets our eligibility criteria.
