There is a problem with the Plot Timeframe category and keywords...

...that begin with the "timeframe-" prefix.  Submissions to delete or correct that prefix are not being accepted on the first submitted go-round.  Apparently, there's some sort of block on the "timeframe-" keywords that is not allowing them to be corrected or deleted.

For example, if a title has "1940s" as a keyword and also "timeframe-1940s" as a keyword, the deletion of the "timeframe-1940s" keyword is not being allowed.  If he "1940s" keyword does not exist and is being added, the deletion of the "timeframe-1940s" keyword is also not being allowed. Perhaps there was a mass effort to delete the "timeframe-" prefixed keywords, and convert them into keywords WITHOUT the "timeframe'" prefix, that was not programmed correctly.

BEWARE:  All "timeframe-" prefixed keywords SHOULD NOT just be deleted  UNTIL the correct formatting is verified.  A simple solution would be to just delete the "timeframe-" prefix from keywords to which it is affixed (and not the ENTIRE keyword), but that may not be possible.

This has been an ongoing problem since at least this summer

p.s. and by "this," I mean the high levels of protection afforded to "timeframe-" keywords.

No need to worry about this, though. Eventually all the "timeframe-" keyword can be mass merged and set up for auto-conversion by staff. That has been on my list of future posts for a while, but it will be a while longer until I post it, given the backlog and the fact that staff currently do not have the ability to make these mass changes to keywords.

They said two months ago that they would be removing the timeframe prefixes and that we should bear with them while they process them, though bradley may be right that the procedure hasn't worked.

While there should be no need to submit individual edits, I did delete some a few days ago, and they were removed after a brief delay.

@Peter_pbn Good point, but now that you mention that post I am remembering why I still have those keywords on my list for a future post: @Bethanny's discussion only implies mergers and doesn't mention auto-conversions. I think auto-conversions should also be set up, given that many of us still have the "timeframe-" keywords ingrained into our muscle memories and auto-fill fields.

I believe I have had some similar experiences, where I have been able to get (some of) these "timeframe-" keywords deleted or modified with some difficulties. As I recall, my rough estimation of a success rate would be about 50%. But don't quote me on it.
