The David Niehaus listed in the credits in “Janis: Little Girl Blue” is not David Niehaus, the sports reporter

The person who was a boyfriend of Janis Joplin has the same name as the Seattle Mariners sportscaster who died in 2010 and was 8-10 years older. This entry needs to be very greatly edited as someone integrated all the sports-related and death information with the Janis Joplin information. This person was alive in 2014 when the documentary was shot and may still be alive today. This cannot be the same person as the person who died in 2010 was calling games for the Mariners when Janis Joplin’s ex-boyfriend recounted in the documentary he was in Kathmandu in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s.

Terry: It looks like the only things at http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0630677/ that do not belong to the sportscaster are the Self roles in Janis: Little Girl Blue and "American Masters: Janis: Little Girl Blue". (There is also a reference to Janis: Little Girl Blue in the mini-biography, but that is automatically generated, and once the credits are split, that will be removed from the sportscaster's biography automatically without you needing to do anything.)

Here is how to go about fixing this.

Go to the page for the combined person at http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0630677/. Click "Edit page".

On the next screen, on the Actor Credits line, select "Correct/Delete". Scroll down and click "Continue".

On the next screen, to the left of the two credits that belong to Janis Joplin's ex-boyfriend, select "Correct" in the menu. Also, below all the credits, there will be a "Show name?" checkbox. Check that box. Click "Check these updates".

On the next screen, you will see that the Name for each of those two credits is editable. Add a roman numeral (II) in parentheses after each of those two to make them:
Niehaus, Dave (II)

For both of those credits, check the box marked "provide an explanation to assist in processing this change". Click "Check these updates".

On the next screen, there will be a place to provide an explanation for each of these corrections. In each case, provide the same explanation, that the Dave Niehaus in this production is not the sportscaster Dave Niehaus who died in 2010, along the lines of what you have posted above.

Also, below each credit, there will be a warning that says, "The name 'Niehaus, Dave (II)' is not currently in the database.  We have these people with similar names ...." Select the option at the end of the list that says, "This is a different person not currently listed - create 'Niehaus, Dave (II)'." Click "Re-check these updates".

On the next screen, your corrections should appear with a green background, and you should be able to click "Submit these updates".

Good luck!
