Following up to ACT_1's post, I see that the supposed box office gross for the 1932 "Tarzan the Ape Man" reported to Box Office Mojo all comes from a single re-release in New Zealand in 2024. (See https://www.boxofficemojo.com/title/tt0023551/ and https://www.boxofficemojo.com/release/rl694190081/weekend/ .) We have seen this before on BOM, where an older movie has only the box office results from a recent re-release listed, because grosses from decades before the 1980s are spotty. But it looks like we are supposed to believe that the NZ release grossed $6 in its first weekend (in 1 theater), $30 the next weekend, $23 the next weekend, and $11 the fourth weekend. These grosses don't make any sense. At many theaters in New Zealand, US$6 wouldn't be enough to buy *one* ticket. (Did they sell a single ticket for a matinee to a child with a discount subscription?) Even assuming the theater showing "Tarzan the Ape Man" held only one showing during the weekend, if the theater sold only *one* ticket to that screening in its opening weekend, it's unlikely that the theater would keep the movie around for the following weekend, or that the distributor would be able to book it anywhere else. Basically, this gross looks so small as to be unrealistic even for a single-screen re-release.

Thanks, Maya. The previous discussion where something similar came up for other films was https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/data-issues-policy-discussions/frequent-imdb-error-display-of-boxoffice-worldwide-gross-for-older-films/674b0af7a8dcf53f655bfaca .
