Still images with black bars

Hello!

I saw a discussion that said, "our image quality guidelines specifically prohibit images with black bars, frames, or letterboxing. If you encounter such images on the site, please report them for removal. We appreciate you bringing this recurring issue to our attention, and we will work with our team to ensure these guidelines are being consistently enforced."

The photo gallery of the series The Rain has hundreds of still images with black bars. I thought of reporting each image separately, but perhaps it'll be easier for one editor to remove them all at once, instead of reviewing 300+ reports.

Some still images are incorrectly tagged as "Publicity". And some tagged as "Still images" are actually publicity promo shots.

Hello Tanyaa

The images have to be requested to be deleted using the online Update Form, you can submit a request to IMDb to remove an image by using the "flag" option listed at the bottom of the image viewer.

For the incorrect tags, the tags can be updated by deleting them and adding the image with the correct Tag. You can find more detailed help in our Help Articles:

@Fran

For the incorrect tags, the tags can be updated by deleting them and adding the image with the correct Tag. You can find more detailed help in our Help Articles:

Regarding image types, the help page says to contact IMDb to change the type:

"If you want to correct an incorrect image type, (for example, a poster listed as a 'still frame'), you can let us know via our contact form by selecting the options:

IMDb Contributor > I need help and haven't submitted an update > Images & video > Other image/video issues

followed by the E-mail button."

Regarding image removal, if IMDb does want reports in such cases, it doesn't seem reasonable to expect a user to submit hundreds of individual reports. Perhaps an alternative could be to include links to the images in an email in the contact form.

@Fran Do you mean I have to "flag" each image separately? There are over 300 of them. I saw this discussion and thought maybe an editor could delete them if they saw this thread.

If there is no other way, I'll do it. It's just very time consuming when there are hundreds of images to report.
