"Self" credits for people who died 350 years ago?!

Having died in the 17th century, it seems unlikely to me that the artist Rembrandt has appeared as himself in two TV series made in the last 3 years:

Note that the credit is listed as "Self - Subject", so someone has decided that someone can be listed as Self because the programme is about them.

Obviously I could just remove both credits, but this points to a wider problem - looking at the cast list for both these series, the same thing is affecting a lot of other historical figures who died long before it would have even been possible to be recorded on film (Christopher Columbus, for example), and I really don't have the time (or inclination, frankly) to go through and remove each one.

Is this a project that a member of IMDb staff might be able to resolve?
