In Progress

Review bombing on Breaking Bad and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms alike.

Apparently Breaking Bad fans have been "review bombing" AKOTSK episodes, and AKOTSK have been review bombing BB episodes alike. Below are some reviews of Ozymandias, now a 9.9 instead of a 10, clearly due to review bombing.

I would also like to note that some of the reviews that are supposably from Breaking bad fans on the new AKOTSK episode are clearly satire, possibly sent by AKOTSK to start a "review war".

Episode 4.03 of BB has also dropped to a 7.9, though there’s a chance that this could be unrelated.

I respect both shows equally, let it be known that I am not picking sides.

It appears that some individuals are creating fake accounts to deliberately rate the Ozymandias episode from Breaking Bad with extremely low scores (such as 2/10) in an attempt to lower its overall rating. The episode previously held a perfect 10.0 rating, and it has now dropped to 9.9 as a result. I sincerely hope there will be a review of these suspicious ratings and that any fake or inauthentic votes will be removed. IMDb has long been considered a benchmark for fair and honest audience ratings, and allowing coordinated fake accounts to manipulate scores could seriously damage its credibility. I don’t think this “war” should continue, but if there is any justice, then we got it, and I guess the BB community got that too. You should never rate another show low just because you don’t want it to pass yours — which wouldn’t happen anyway. It’s not fair, and it ruins the value of the rating system itself.

@Fran So is there an update on the situation? I noticed that there hasn't been any official written reviews on Ozymandias since February 20th and it seems that most of the written reviews that were rated 1/10 by game of thrones fans were deleted off the page yet the score for Ozymandias keeps dropping. It's at a 9.5/10 now.

I am writing because something keeps happening with the ratings and it is honestly frustrating to watch. A recent release, AKOTSK, dropped from 10.0 to 9.8 very quickly. That kind of drop actually happens a lot. Ratings spike at first, then they settle over time. That part is normal. But instead of understanding that, some fans started blaming Breaking Bad fans for the drop. Then people began review bombing in response. Now it has turned into both sides giving extreme low ratings to each other’s shows. At this point the scores are not reflecting real opinions anymore. It is just retaliation. Neither show deserves that. Ratings should not turn into fan wars. When this back and forth starts, it makes the whole system feel unreliable. I really hope you can take a closer look at this pattern. It keeps happening whenever a major episode challenges a top rating, and it ruins what should be an honest audience score. I wish you do something and remove these reviews from the bombers. deleting fake reviews for breaking bad is quite simple I suppose. Just delete all the recent reviews including good ones and the bad ones. block voting for like 3 months. then unblock it again after the heat goes away.

Dear IMDb Support Team, I hope you are doing well. I am writing to respectfully request a review of recent rating activity on the episode “Ozymandias” from the TV series Breaking Bad. Over a short period, the episode appears to have received an unusual surge of extreme ratings, which many viewers believe may be the result of coordinated review bombing rather than genuine audience feedback. “Ozymandias” has long been regarded as one of the highest-rated television episodes on IMDb, and the sudden shift in its rating distribution seems inconsistent with its historical voting pattern. Because IMDb ratings are widely trusted by viewers, I wanted to bring this to your attention in case the activity warrants investigation under your policies for unusual or manipulated voting behavior. I fully understand that IMDb uses internal weighting systems and does not remove legitimate opinions. This message is only a request to review whether any recent ratings violate IMDb guidelines or reflect abnormal voting patterns. Thank you for your time and for maintaining the integrity of the platform. Hello For 13 years, Breaking Bad Season 5 Episode 14 "Ozymandias" has been widely considered by many including myself to be the greatest episode in the history of television. Which is why it held a perfect 10/10 IMDB rating for so long. But in two days the episodes rating has dropped to 9.8 thanks to game of thrones fans accusing breaking bad fans of review bombing "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" most recent episodes. I would kindly suggest you look into this behavior and lock the ratings for Ozymandias temporarily and clear out all the artificial 1/10 reviews and then wait a month until it is reopened again. Investigate any type of review bombing come from any of the a knight of the seven kingdoms episodes too.  Thank you Note: This comment was created from a merged conversation Link : https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/data-issues-policy-discussions/review-bombing-and-manipulation-regarding-breaking-bads-ozymandias/6999d66e02ce8c52ae9258d5 Title : Review bombing and manipulation regarding Breaking Bad's "Ozymandias"

Hello, I’m reaching out regarding what is widely considered the greatest TV episode of all time, Ozymandias from Breaking Bad. For many years, it held a well-earned 10/10 rating. Recently, a coordinated group of users has been deliberately review-bombing the episode with 1/10 ratings. You can even find clear evidence on TikTok and the Review texts itself, where people openly document and organize this behavior. As a result, the rating has dropped to 9.8. When looking through the current reviews on IMDb, it’s obvious that many of these are not genuine critiques. Numerous entries explicitly state that the user gave a 1/10 rating purely to bring the score down, not because of any actual evaluation of the episode’s quality. Some even reference unrelated memes or phrases, making it clear that this is not authentic feedback. This raises a serious concern: what actions are you taking against coordinated manipulation like this? IMDb has built its reputation on being a trusted platform for film and television ratings, including hosting what many consider the highest-rated episode in television history. Allowing organized review-bombing to distort such a landmark rating undermines that credibility. I understand that IMDb uses weighted ratings and considers written reviews, but when the written content itself openly confirms bad-faith intent, it seems reasonable to take corrective action. Please no reply with a generic template. I’m asking a direct question: Do you consider this review-bombing of Ozymandias acceptable, or will you take action? Will you at least remove reviews where users openly admit they gave 1/10 ratings just to lower the score? This is clearly coordinated and not genuine feedback. Allowing this damages the credibility of your platform. I’d appreciate a clear and honest answer. Dear IMDb Support Team, I am writing to raise a concern about the ongoing review bombing between fans of Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones. Coordinated low ratings appear to be affecting episode scores and overall rankings, creating a misleading impression for viewers. IMDb is widely trusted for its rating system, and such activity may undermine its credibility. I kindly request that your team review this issue and consider strengthening safeguards against rating manipulation. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, A concerned viewer Note: This comment was created from a merged conversation Link : https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/data-issues-policy-discussions/concern-about-rating-manipulation-on-imdb/699a0eac2fdedf1d53d01821 Title : Concern About Rating Manipulation on IMDb

The current trend of rival fanbases creating fake accounts to "tank" the ratings of opposing shows is getting out of hand. It’s disappointing to see some of the best series on this platform having their episode ratings dragged down by "1" and "2" star votes that clearly don't reflect the quality of the content, but rather a toxic fan war. IMDb’s rating policy needs a serious review. We need better management of bot accounts and a system that weighs ratings based on account history. While everyone is entitled to an opinion, the logic behind the current weighted system should be more transparent or more aggressive in filtering out coordinated "review bombing" campaigns. Ratings should reflect the work of the creators, not the toxicity of a trend. Hello, I would like to report possible vote manipulation on the episode “Ozymandias” from Breaking Bad. I noticed what appears to be an unusual increase in 1-star ratings that does not match the episode’s long-standing rating pattern. Because this episode has historically been one of the highest-rated television episodes, the recent shift seems suspicious. I kindly ask that you review the voting activity to ensure it reflects genuine user opinions. Thank you for your time and for maintaining fair ratings. Hello, I would like to report possible organized vote manipulation targeting the Breaking Bad episode "Ozymandias" (Season 5, Episode 14). There appear to be coordinated campaigns on social media, reportedly involving some Game of Thrones fans, encouraging users to mass downvote the episode. The rating seems to have changed unusually in a short period. Please review the user ratings for suspicious activity. Thank you.   Note: This comment was created from a merged conversation Link : https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/data-issues-policy-discussions/101-possible-review-bombing-on-breaking-bad-s05e14-ozymandias/699b3742709ea416089a024c Title : 101 Possible review bombing on Breaking Bad S05E14 (Ozymandias)

A recent internet feud between Breaking Bad fans and Knight of the Seven Kingdoms fans has resulted in an egregious amount of 10/10 and 1/10 reviews that have been used as part of a war that is ruining the actual legitimacy of the rating system. At time of writing, if you look at Knight of the Seven Kingdom's Season Finale (which has not yet premiered today), you'll see that it has almost exclusively 10s and 1s. This is not fair and serves as proof that there is no legitimate rating being done. This should be addressed so rating wars (which completely sabotage any authenticity) cannot continue.  AKOTSK's fanbase has taken to Breaking Bad episodes to fight back and have tanked episode scores, as well. So, as of now, we just have a petty and pointless scorched earth approach being taken by both fanbases. Is there no way to remove the recent massive influx of 1 out of 10 reviews for both shows? I think any level-headed viewer knows that a finale (that hasn't even premiered yet today) should not be getting thousands of 10/10 and 1/10 reviews already. Please try to put a stop to this pointless internet war by addressing it in some way, shape, or form. If people can simply get away with trying to out petty each other, than can ANY rating on this platform be trusted in the future? I sure hope a staffer will respond to this. If a title hasn't been released yet, it shouldn't be able to vote for it. All votes that have been added to a title before it was (legally) released should be removed I feel. The same goes for user reviews.

Hello IMDb Support Team,I am writing to report a coordinated "review bombing" campaign targeting the Breaking Bad episode: "Ozymandias" (S5, E14).Recently, there has been a suspicious surge of 1-star ratings within a very short period. This episode has been widely regarded as one of the highest-rated episodes in TV history, and this sudden influx of negative ratings appears to be an organized effort to manipulate its weighted average rather than genuine feedback.I kindly request your team to investigate this activity and apply your "weighted rating" system to maintain the integrity of the IMDb rating for this iconic episode.Best regards, (Lys) Note: This comment was created from a merged conversation Link : https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/imdbcom/suspected-coordinated-1star-rating-activity-ozymandias-s5e14/699b83236565d50faf8e35c5 Title : Suspected Coordinated 1-Star Rating Activity – Ozymandias (S5E14)
