Request to block keyword donald-trump

According to the keyword guide (https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/titles/keywords/GXQ22G5Y72TH8MJ5?ref_=helpms_helpart_inline#), standalone names should NOT be keywords. However, there is a keyword donald-trump that is currently attached to 219 (!) titles: https://www.imdb.com/search/keyword/?keywords=donald-trump . Can a staffer please block 'donald-trump' as a keywords so no new instances of this keyword can be created? (previously, this happened to 'william-shakespeare: https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/data-issues-policy-discussions/keyword-williamshakespeare-added-in-the-past-few-months-3/5f4a7cb78815453dba107a5a )

Hi Marco -

This keyword has now been removed, the changes should be live on the site shortly.  I have also taken further steps to block this keyword within the submission form.

Cheers!

I think you need to rethink this decision, based on the discussion.  Have you read all the comments on this and related postings?

This is not as simple as it seems.  You are deleting information that, after auditing for correct formatting, could be valid.

Michelle--

You have probably "thrown away" potential information that could have been saved if formatted correctly.  Restore them, and I will audit them to save as many as possible.

@Michelle Thanks for blocking 'donald-trump' as a keyword.

FWIW considering the posts of Bradley and Jeorj: I wasn't looking for a removal of all the current instances, but as I've said in my OP, a block of the keyword would be very useful "so no new instances of this keyword can be created". (see also https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/data-issues-policy-discussions/keyword-williamshakespeare-added-in-the-past-few-months-3/5f4a7cb78815453dba107a5a?commentId=5f4a7cb78815453dba107d63&replyId=5f4a7f7e8815453dba910ee9 )

Thank you, Marco, for your post on a previous thread.  I did understand that you wanted future submissions of a standalone donald-trump keyword to be blocked (which has apparently happened), but what Michelle also did was delete all the existing, incorrect donald-trump keywords.  As I offered before, IF she would restore the incorrect donald-trump keywords that she deleted, I would audit as many as possible for correct formatting.  Perhaps she misunderstood your original intent, or just overreacted.

Note: This comment was created from a merged conversation originally titled But previous, unaudited donald-trump keywords have been deleted

I agree with you, Crosswalk X.  I want to know what titles Donald Trump in is, as well as those that refer to him OR portray him.  Deleting previously incorrect standalone donald-trump keywords without auditing for correct formatting does not help.  Future attempts to add STANDALONE donald-trump keywords should not just be automatically blocked, but hey should have instruction on correct formatting before being listed.

Hi @bradley_kent -

Unfortunately, our current staff don't have the operational capacity to audit/review all 315 titles where the keyword "donald-trump" was listed under, it is also our process to remove invalid entries.  If this is something you would be interested in reviewing further, I can provide a list of the titles for you where they keyword was previously listed on.

Additionally, I have reviewed your suggestion to offer a "Warning" in the Submission form in addition to blocking the keyword and have passed along the request to the applicable team for consideration.

Cheers!

Michelle--

E-mail me the list of the 315 titles, and I will do what I can.  I have done, and continue to do, many audits, and, yes, they are time-consuming, and, yes, I realize that the staff probably does not have the time to do this yeoman's work, but I will.

Michelle, the same objection was raised regarding the list of keywords posted by "Karen", in the thread which you replied to and which Karen then deleted.

Why? I like to find out what films Donald Trump was in. Keywords are supposed to make it easier for me to find people and character and plot points and objects.

FYI, the inherently vague and improperly formatted keyword "trump" has now also been blocked from the system, and so have the improper "anti-trump" keywords
