Release Date of a movie is different to other sources (Wikipedia etc)

Hi, I have another question/issue. I found out that the following movie has a different year and release date here than on other sites.  https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075834/releaseinfo?ref_=tt_dt_dt La ragazza dal pigiama giallo (1978) "Release Dates Italy 12 January 1978" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pyjama_Girl_Case "Release date 31 December 1977" I tried to send in the correction via the "Edit page" button. However, it wasn't changed and I'm not sure why (and whether it was checked at all). Is there some way to find out which site is correct and why IMDB chose the January 1978 date? If 1978 is correct, I'd recommend the other movie site that I use to change it as well. If December 1977 is correct, I'd recommend to change the release date and the title year as well.

You would need a better source to get IMDb's date changed.  You may get a reply from IMDb later, but they usually won't say much about where their data came from.

Thank you for your answer, Peter_pbn! Yes, I understand that a good source is needed. I don't really find a solid source, neither for the 1977 nor for the 1978 date. I'll accept that it differs from site to site ;)
