Possible review bombing of Emancipation (2022)
I think Emancipation, directed by Antoine Fuqua, is being review bombed by white supremacists and/or white nationalists. There was a hit piece review of the movie on Alex Jones's white supremacist conspiracy theory hub Info Wars, which seems to have since been deleted as I can no longer find it to link it here. When Info Wars publishes a hit piece on media created by black creators, or one that talks about the history of racism and oppression in America, that media is historically review bombed by racially motivated users as the racist propaganda is circulated in conservative underground communities. This seems to be the case, here, as nearly two-thirds of the IMDB user reviews for Emancipation are one star reviews.
IMDB's user rating of Emancipation is one of the first things people will see when they Google the movie. It doesn't seem right for people Googling a film to see an intentionally deflated score and have their prejudgement of the film altered by it. Many people may decide not to see the film at all because of its low score.

Hi, Frogberry. Welcome to the forum of/for the IMDb Community! Your taking of time and effort to come here to express your concerns is greatly appreciated. Thank you. Well, it looks as though the IMDb site authorities partly took care of their end of the problem by locking down (for an appropriate amount of time) the ratings input system for the IMDb title page in question, so the rest is the Alphabet/Google company's responsibility, in regards to updating the search engine's cached version of the IMDb data. I'm sure the IMDb staff will be on the lookout for sockpuppet/troll accounts on IMDb casting votes against this movie, but there is no guaranteeing the results over time. We have to remember that countless biographical/historical movies have misrepresented the exact facts of actual events in full context, sometimes whitewashing atrocities (including chattel slavery), glorifying tyrants or defaming neutral parties, and movie-going folks are starting to have enough of it.

As a Black Woman, I was thoroughly impressed with the Movie.
It isn't the same old twos on slavery.
The slaves aren't singing, dancing , and grinning!
Slavery was dark,twisted, and evil....

I think the IMDB rating is a disgrace...I watched the movie and it's harsh reality. The acting was very well done and frankly I believe the movie should be nominated for the highest awards that cinema can offer. Ridiculous score--FOUR.NINE??? Unbelievable.

The IMDB rating for this movie is nothing short of a 7...to rate it a 4.9 is an utter disgrace.
