News Articles on Your Page

When you look at your profile, there is Trending & News on the right-hand side. How do I correct the NEWS article number and links to those stories? Not all news articles are listed.

I've linked the correct number of articles under MISCELLANEOUS links on my profile but want to correct the specific NEWS box instead. How?

Hi gradyacraig -

Please note that the "Trending & News" section on your IMDbPro page only includes the count of News articles, this does not include External Site links.

Currently, you have five news articles tagged to your IMDb page, therefore, the count of "5" is correct.

Cheers!

Hi Michelle, the count is incorrect as it did not pick up about 6 other articles in the news.

I’ve linked them in my external links for reference.

Please advise — thank you!

Hi gradyacraig -

To help clarify, articles displayed under your "News" section are separate from those displaying under your "External Links" section; as such, the News article count only includes what is listed under your "News" section.

If there are articles listed on the IMDb site where your name is mentioned but the article is not listed under your "News" section, then you will need to request that your name be linked to those articles.  You will need to locate the news article on IMDb, for example:

https://pro.imdb.com/news/article/ni63315100/

If your name is displayed within the extracted article content on IMDb, we can then link your name and it will display within your "News" section.  You are welcome to include those news article links here and our staff can take a look for you.

Hope this helps!

Hi Michelle, thank you and I understand they are different. I am including all of the links in my EXTERNAL LINKS section so that the IMDb staff can properly reference them when correcting the "NEWS" Section.

I have provided them accordingly. What are next steps?

Hi gradyacraig -

In order for our staff to review the news article and tag your name (if applicable), you will need to provide us with the actual News article link on IMDb, for example, https://www.imdb.com/news/niXXXXXXX:

https://www.imdb.com/news/ni63318272

https://www.imdb.com/news/ni63316892

Once you have the list of IMDb article links (not the links within your External Sites section) our staff can then review them for you.

Cheers!

Hi gradyacraig -

Apologies for the delayed response.  I can confirm that two of the articles ("Cannes: Malin Akerman" and "Meuller") are currently tagged to your IMDb page, however, the remaining five news articles cannot be tagged to your IMDb page because your name is not displayed within the extracted article we have on IMDb.

So even though your name may be referenced within the full article from the news provider, in order to link a name within a news article, the name must be referenced within the extracted article we display on IMDb.

@Michelle as mentioned below that's not the case for many people.

In my case the article did show in my news section for two days then it disappeared.

I'm clearly linked on the IMDb. People not showing in the tiny portion of the article on this site still have it linked to their page, so why them and not me?

I have a thread here with the full details if you can help:
https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/data-issues-policy-discussions/news-links-not-showing-on-my-page-anymore/61453e2e7999fd0798c675a8

Also I am linked in news articles not even really about me where my name appears in the greater article and not the extract...

Hi Michelle,

I would like to differ on this comment of yours:

So even though your name may be referenced within the full article from the news provider, in order to link a name within a news article, the name must be referenced within the extracted article we display on IMDb.

For example (naming only one, there are many other examples): Please see the profile of Luke Prael. The following links of Imdbnews extracts do not have his name but are mentioned only in the full article of the external site. However they are still linked in the IMDB news. How is that possible?

https://pro.imdb.com/news/article/ni62238738/nm8302891?ref_=news_nm
https://pro.imdb.com/news/article/ni62195657/nm8302891?ref_=news_nm

Hi @avantika -

I just reviewed the news articles you referenced above, the last two news articles (ni62195657 & ni62165521) do reference the name "Luke Prael" within the extracted article and are correctly linked to his page.

However, for the the first article (ni62238738), I did not identify the referenced name, as such I have alerted our technical team to investigate further.

Also one more quick question:

There are many websites like Bollywoodhungama, Entertainment tonight etc which have not linked their articles to Imdbnews since 2018. Why is it so?

Hi @avantika -

If there are news partners who do not have current feeds (since 2018), it's likely that they are no longer active NewsDesk partners or no longer have a feed available.

Hope this helps!
