Jean Philippe dead?

Jean Philippe https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0680005/?ref_=nmbio_bio_nm – is marked as having died on January 9, 2022.

I find this hard to believe. He was a two time Eurovision entry for both France and Switzerland. Here is his Wiki page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean_Philippe

I have trouble believing that he could die "off radar"

Nowhere online can I find anything which corroborates a date of death. Not even a single mention on Facebook or Twitter. Can an admin please confirm whether this was added to his page using a truly reliable tip off or source? If not, it should most certainly be removed.

Found this death notice on that date: https://www.libramemoria.com/defunts/philippe-jean/d87512542f1046219f18c641bb24614f

But birth years do not match.

Thanks mbmb. Seems like a plausible explanation. There's no way that's him as Philippe was born in either 1930 or 1931. If he was born in 1941, he would have been around 18 the first time he performed at Eurovision. From the photos and clips it's obvious that we're looking at a 28 year old man in 1959. If IMDb have used this as their evidence for his death, they really need to revert it now.

Hi @jksutherland & @mbmb -

We actually were provided with a different obituary that matches birth date of November 27, 1930 and mentions wife's name too. If you have any reliable evidence to dispute this you can submit a deletion for the death date with evidence attached.

Thanks!

@Bethanny Thanks for the info, I don't think anything needs to be deleted, I also found this: https://www.cimetieresduquebec.ca/outaouais/papineauville-protestant/photos/382205/

It seems this site lists photos of headstones but other info is edited by users. In this case, photo of the family headstone is taken in 2017 (before anyone died), then someone added other info. It looks like there is a minor mistake with death date, his daughters' Facebook profiles indicate that he was actually died on 7 January, following posts say he died on Friday (which is 7 January, maybe 9 January is when he was buried):

Hi @mbmb -

Thanks for the additional sleuthing. Based on the information you found, January 7th is likely the correct day and I have now corrected the data.

Cheers!

Incredible that he died off radar but I suppose he emigrated and faded from the spotlight. Thanks for the research and clarification provided!
