IMDB needs to flag AI generated movies

If the studios have their way, many future movies will be written, directed, performed and filmed entirely by computers. IMDB needs to flag such productions because those of us who care about the future of theater arts deserve that information to know which movies to support and which to avoid.

Hi, jaybird1944. If you're aware of any move that is created by machine learning software with no or almost no human intervention, then feel freed to identify it, but please bear in mind that a movie being in such a condition does not cause it to be ineligible for inclusion on IMDb. We have crew attributes such as "(uncredited)" and "(credit only)" to account for when the on-screen credits are discordant with people's actual participation in a project.

Never meant to propose that such a movie should be banned from IMDB, just that viewers should be made aware.

Some examples:

Window Seat (budget $190, 61 minute runtime) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt28442424/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_2_tt_8_nm_0_q_window%2520seat

Last Stand (10 minutes) "None of it is real. It’s just a movie, made mostly with AI, which took care of writing the script, creating the concept art, generating all the voices, and participating in some creative decisions. The AI-generated voices used in this film do not reflect the opinions and thoughts of their original owners. This short film was created as a demonstration to showcase the potential of AI in filmmaking" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dtSqhYhcrs

Genesis - Official Trailer (Midjourney + Runway) (48 seconds) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LodDJFg_LQk

The keywords system can probably be utilized for the purpose of tracking which movies were storied, shot, animated, edited or so by a clever GAN/ML/AI tool.

Although I hadn't specified, what I had in mind was something along the lines of a lengthy keyword like "film-conjured-by-algorithm".

@jeorj_euler 😀

That may be hard to find for contributors to add as KeyWords ??

Howabout
"Artificial Intelligence Created Movie or TV show" ??

Keep together with the others

"Film generate by algorithm" sounds like how every sitcom episode ever filmed was generated. ;)

Undoubtedly there would have to be more than one keyword, so as to account for the nature of the software's contribution to the development/production process. Thus far, there hasn't been computer program known to be functionally a casting director and a cinematographer for any particular movie that was ever released. Whereas creating a story (sequences of events involving characters) or simply editing existing collections of footage for that purpose doesn't require eyes, ears, hands, arms, feet and legs, along with the ability to coordinate them. I can see how describing the artist as an "algorithm" alone isn't the wisest, because algorithms are mostly seen as a static instruction tree that doesn't rely heavily upon memory and past experience with raw data in the way that machine learning software does.

Have any of them ever commented before on matters of generative adversarial networks, generative pretrained transformers or machine learning before? If not, then why would any of them start now? Perhaps the ball is in Amazon's court.

Well, this is also an idea-type thread, so we know how those usually go. On a related note, seemingly the advocacy of people choosing to buy silver screen tickets based upon who or what made a movie rather than genuine interest in the movie's subject material alone has rubbed some people the wrong way,, and we don't know the distribution of up votes and down votes, only that the latter exceeds the former, but I'm assuming that nobody has approved of this. Just to note, I've not voted on the matter. I've an aversion to this aspect of the Sprinklr design. Could the votes be from bots? I don't know.

Yes, that's the number of upvotes minus the number of downvotes, thus far.

Is that somehow surprising to you, ACT_1? I don't expect for there to ever be a response.

The Aries Computer -- deletion
Hi!
I believe the title "The Aries Computer" should be removed from IMDB
This title was part of a proposed TV series by Gold Key Entertainment in the early 1970s...
However the series was never made...

https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/data-issues-policy-discussions/the-aries-computer-deletion/65182030635a8c0f7c29ae3b

The Aries Computer (1972)
By the year 2013, when the Earth's population has reached in the billions
the Aries computer becomes the ruling force of intelligence.
The people must find a way to overcome the A. I.
