Solved

I think my updates are being deleted/removed

I have been updating the company credits for movies with Motion Picture Association (MPA) credits and then coming back to them later and finding those credits removed. The frustration of having to put those credits again, and to possibly have to do this again in the future, is a terrible feeling. And I can't think of a solution for this problem either.

Hi frozen13-

In order for our staff to further investigate, can you post some examples of your 18-digit submission reference numbers for these company credits contributions?

Cheers!

Hi @frozen13 -

I can see that the company credits are adding to the Motion Picture Association (MPA) with certificate numbers have been removed because this data instead belongs under the 'Certificate section' on the title page, as opposed to being listed as a credit.

For more information about listing MPA certificates, I encourage you to review the bottom of our Help Guide (listed under 'USA (MPA - formerly MPAA)').

I hope this helps!

When I add the company credits for movies with Motion Picture Association (MPA) as acknowledgement, they get removed after a day or two. It's definitely frustrating to have to re-add the same credits repeatedly.

In your old post, a reply from IMDb says the data does not belong as a company credit.

Hi @frozen13,

I'm just following up here regarding your submissions referenced in this thread.

Following on from Michelle's previous message above, you have continued to add this information to an ineligible data category, which is considered a breach of our guidelines. This is outlined in our Companies data guide, under Miscellaneous companies.

Any additional contributions that breach this guideline will result in limitations being applied to your submissions for the foreseeable future. Going forward, please ensure you are only submitting data in accordance within our guidelines.

Thanks!

Frozen: If you are talking about not allowing the Motion Picture Association as a miscellaneous company for rating a movie, then I have to disagree with you. Please see the thread at https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/data-issues-policy-discussions/mpa-certificate-info-under-miscellaneous-company-section/696e8ea27a2388341797d845 where this is currently being discussed.

@frozen13 You don't have to contribute to IMDb if you don't like or agree with the guidelines. But if you do choose to contribute, you have to follow the guidelines. Whether or not you like them is then completely irrelevant.

I'm not sure you're in a position to demand anything from IMDb...

I've had company credit contributions declined because it "does not meet contribution guidelines." This has happened before and is very frustrating because it frankly is the most idiotic response possible to someone trying to help clean up the IMDb database. If you're not going to take the trouble to actually watch the movie to verify the submission, why decline it or even bother to request submissions in the first place? I can't attach a copy of the video for the moderators to watch if they're too lazy to seek it out and watch it. In many cases, the credits I submitted are as clear as day if someone actually watched the relevant video clip. At this point, I'm not so invested in the submissions that were declined for someone to review them specifically again. I just wish the review process was fixed once and for all on an ongoing basis such as submissions are not automatically declined unless someone at IMDb has gotten off the sofa or has stepped away from the coffee machine long enough to actually do a complete verification. Stop wasting our time. End of rant - thank you.  Note: This comment was created from a merged conversation Link : https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/data-issues-policy-discussions/company-credit-contribution-declined-does-not-meet-contribution-guidelines/699cde1f980f740132803619 Title : Company Credit Contribution Declined "Does Not Meet Contribution Guidelines"

Hi frozen13-

I understand the frustration especially given that you have taken the time and effort to contribute updates to IMDb, which we truly appreciate.

You are still welcome to include examples of these submission reference numbers on this thread for our staff will investigate.

Cheers!
