Early award shows
IMDb currently lists the Oscars as TV specials starting with the 21st awards in 1949. (search results)
The Academy says television cameras first covered the ceremony at the 25th awards in 1953. (oscars.org)
There is newsreel footage from some previous ceremonies. In addition, there were earlier radio broadcasts.
Should the TV special titles before 1953 be removed? Or should they be left to represent newsreels or radio broadcasts?
For the Golden Globe Awards, there is a series listing starting in 1944, which I have already submitted for deletion because it duplicates existing TV specials. (search results)
IMDb has TV special listings starting in 1955. Wikipedia has good sources for TV broadcasts from 1960 (local TV, KKTV). I wonder if anyone (including IMDb) has sources for the earlier broadcasts.
The early IMDb listings are a bit suspicious because they seem to be misspelled (Golden Globes Awards vs. Golden Globe Awards).

Hi Peter -
Technically speaking, if the event was never broadcast as a TV Special nor televised or released at any later date, then the title listing would be ineligible. Additionally, we do not yet list radio broadcast titles on the site.
If footage from the event was scene on a televised news broadcast, then the event details would be welcome to be listed as a Trivia item on that news title, but the footage alone is not enough to be eligible for a standalone title listing on the site.
I hope this helps!

For the record, I haven't requested that the early Academy Awards titles (21st to 24th) should be removed. Instead I have removed the TV title type and the release dates which suggested that they were televised. Recordings exist in the Academy archives, and clips are available on YouTube.
Regarding the Golden Globes, see my other post.
