Duplicate episodes (The Michael Knowles Show, The Ben Shapiro Show)

These duplicate episodes just appeared today. I've been cleaning this mess up for months. It's time to stop whoever is doing this.

I believe I was told that these duplicates appear because the person submitting them doesn't know the pages are already there. And the reason he doesn't know they're already there is because I'm removing the "Ep. [number] -" part from the title. That keeps the system from warning him.

I'm wondering if I should simply stop making that correction, even though it is in accordance with the rules.

I reviewed both series titles you referenced but am not seeing any duplicated episode listings (not sure if you have already cleaned them up)?

The next time you observe a duplicate episode listing, can you post both IMDb episode title page links here for our staff to investigate?

@jay_spirit @Michelle I made a quick page where one can search for an IMDB ID to see if I was the one that added the title, it should make it easier to let me know if I should disable uploading to some podcast page.

Just insert the imdb id (ttXXXXXX) and press the search button and it will let you know.

@ind3 Could you specify two duplicate episode ID's? Because I created that general Podcast page, and all the episodes I uploaded are from their Spotify page https://open.spotify.com/show/2D3UMGJACLv45osgQTMW6J. If there are duplicates there are two options:

- The creators of the podcast uploaded duplicates to their own podcast page leading to double uploads not being caught by IMDb since they are uploaded in parallel

- Someone else uploads episodes for the podcast in parallel with my program leading to duplicates

My program fetches new episodes every 4 days and uploads them if the podcast is recently active (last episode more recent than 7 days), otherwise, 14 days in between uploading to spread out the uploading over a given period.
