Changing title from Short to Music Video

Hey there, I've spent hours trying to figure this out. I expect it would be MOVIE TITLE (2020) (MV), but it's not listed in the tips and trying that only gets a rejection.

Additionally, adding or updating poster images hasn't been effective over the past 24 hours. Does it normally take a while to update? I read something online that made it seem like it should be instantaneous.

Thanks in advance.

You can always click ”Edit” to any title to check the title formatting if you’re not sure. So you need to add ”(Music Video)” after the year.

For example:

Nightwish: Bye Bye Beautiful (2007) (Music Video)

Thanks @eboy

@DanBringhurst to assist with improving our online help, you mentioned difficulty in finding the format details.  May we ask where you searched and where you were expecting the help to be located?

For example, a search for “music video” on https://help.imdb.com  should have led you to https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/titles/title-formatting/G56U5ERK7YY47CQB

Thanks.

@DanBringhurst  We just spotted that the in-line help for title corrections was never updated when we added music videos, sorry.  Was this where you were looking?

@Col_Needham It is. I honestly just went to change my page settings, found the "Change Title" at the bottom of the list, and discovered it didn't list (MUSIC VIDEO) there. But yeah, instructions certainly exist elsewhere, apparently. I'm not sure why I couldn't find it when I searched Google so much.

We just spotted that the in-line help for title corrections was never updated when we added music videos, sorry.

That's curious, I pointed out that in Music Video Title Type announcement thread 9 months ago and Rachel said she updated it: https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/data-issues-policy-discussions/launch-announcement-music-video-title-type/6196642797253660be7945ce?commentId=6196e9e197253660be794e86

Like I said there when I reported it, Podcast information was already present in correction form text but now both info is not there. Maybe accidentally it was reverted to a past help text at some point?

@DanBringhurst  Thanks for confirming and sorry once again.  As @mbmb points out (thanks), we did fix this once already and it must have been accidentally reverted to a previous version (something actually not that easy to do, but as Sherlock Holmes would say … https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0708697/quotes/qt0383867).

@Col_Needham

When the version that mentioned podcasts was there I pointed out several errors. Most of them also appear in the current version.

@Peter_pbn Sorry about that.  A new ticket covering all of this is now open (ref: Content-Q&R-2334)

@Col_Needham

The podcast and music video formats have been added to the tips, at least in section 3.

A few remaining issues:

The formatting list includes:

Title name (2022) (TV) is a TV Special

To be consistent with your usual language it should also say TV Movie. (The similar list in section 1 says "TV movie")

In the examples:

"Series name" (2021) { My First Trip (#1/1)}

1/1 should be 1.1

Additionally, they put a wrong formatting for Podcast:

"Title" (2022) (Podcast series)

(if anyone does what the submission form says and put it with lowercase "s", then they would get this error: The year or title type tag is incorrectly formatted. Please format this title according to the IMDb title guidelines. )

Also, "Title name (2022) (V) is a Video" in the list is in different style than others for no reason?

@mbmb & @Peter_pbn -- these should all be fixed (again) now. Please let us know if there are any further issues.
