Change of character name declined despite providing Call Sheet as evidence

After providing likes to various sites (BFI, TCM etc.) to prove that the family name in 'The Haunting' (1963) was 'Sannerson' NOT 'Sanderson' .

I had my first attempt declined.

Luckily I do have some call sheets - as specified in the guidelines - I submitted a call sheet as specified in the guidelines - and this was declined again.

I'm have submitted more call sheets, MGM press releases and cast lists, even the VHS sleeve as evidence for a third attempt - this may be over-kill, the IMDb mistake is being copied repeated over and over again - so I would like to get this fixed - 'Sannerson' NOT 'Sanderson'.

If I am doingf something wrong, or could do something better, please let me know.

It should be 'links' not 'likes'

This is crazy!

I have provided two call sheets form the production with the name 'Sannerson" to prove my case together with other documentation from the production company and distributors, and my correction has still been declined.

After submitting three times with incontrovertible proof , where do I go from here????

Help would very much be appreciated.

How much evidence is needed? This is a big issue becasue other sites use IMDb as a reference and this incorrect character name is being spread around the internet.

Hello ARMTube,

The best evidence when changing/correcting a character name would be the onscreen end credits in order to match what the credits are. Have you checked the end credits for the movie? How is this person credited? Can you help us posting a screengrab from the onscreen credits to verify/validate the credited character name?

@Fran

There are no character names on screen:

This is so common in older movies, but also in TV today, that it seems wrong for IMDb to assume that there are credited character names.

Based on the provided evidence, the character name has been updated, the changes will be live on the site shorty!

Cheers!

@Fran It seems "Mrs. Sanderson" one was not updated.

I missed one credit modification, the change was applied and will be live and applied shortly.

Cheers!

I've just noticed a connected problem  -  the IMDb page for 'The Haunting' has a "Quotes' section - absolutely packed with instances of "Sanderson" - but there is no way to correct it as only 'Sanderson" names are available in the drop-down lists of characters.

@ARMTube  Good catch, thanks, this has now been fixed.

If you see it anywhere again, the way to fix it is to edit the quote, change the actor to "Other" (at the bottom of the speaker menu) then press the "Continue" button, and then change it back to the original actor, this will pull the corrected character name into the (corrected) quote, at which point it can be submitted for processing.

There were a lot of quotes to be corrected  - thank you
