@jeorj_euler I have started golding up my badges ever since mid-June this year, so I thought about getting the Top Contributor Bio badge as well. I've found the Bio badge to be incredibly difficult to golden up, right up there with contributing new Names, but once you get it right, understand the necessities required and what is not required, you only need a "gold mine" for submissions, and there you go. If you check some accounts, even from the most common top contributors, you will find that the most of them have that in common: no, or very few bio contributions, and the same goes for Names - of course there are exceptions, too. I've found the easiest badges are Images and Plots. Right now, my focus isn't on images (As this topic shows), but next year I plan to go for Top Contributor Plot as well, for that will be the only Goldie I won't have by the end of the year - unless of course even my close to 750 Bios right now, won't put me on the Top Contributor Bio List. 😦

In that respect my Name and Avatar is programm: Setting the site on a goal, and go for the kill; and not letting go of it until I have what I've aimed for; so look out, you Plot writers...

Another aim was/is the Badge for Contributor of the Year - as I understand it, the top 300 will be awarded this plague, and, judging by the lowest amount of submissions within the last ten years, I will surely be among them this year.

In case we are mixed up here: I don't have an own name page. I do not want my "own bio" updated, I want my Bio Badge updated; you know the one for contribution made by submitting mini bios.

Although I have no idea how you got that. And 670 seems far too low; but I've included birth dates, etc. in my estimate of 1000+. I thought these submissions count as well...

Than Michelle or any other Employee shall fill this in; I don't know how to give a mini bio author page, other than the one you've correctly posted

And I still don't understand how you got this. Is this another example of the beta update history?

Furthermore, what started my perplexion about the count was, and I shall ask it again, that I've wondered about the amount on my badge (500+) when I've clearly added more biographical data than this: so my question becomes: Does Birthdate, Deathdate, Birthplace etc count as biographical data (as I've assumed so far), yes or no?

If yes, see my question why the badge was not yet updated.

If no: under what badge will those submissions be counted, then - lifetime total?

ACT_1, you seem to be misfiring (or producing logical fallacies) at lot in this thread. When you visit, say, https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000033/bio/ (of Alfred Hitchock), you'll notice that Col Needham's name doesn't show up in the form of a hyperlink, neither to the Advanced Name Search (ANS) results page nor to his IMDb member profile. Nevertheless, the way the mini-bio subpage of an IMDb name page showed up in interface of the last generation platform, every author's name would be a hyperlink to the ANS results for the corresponding author name query.

Yes, I could agree that there is some confusion, and some of "our" remarks have made things even more confusing. That also factors into why some of the messages have been deleted, I think. I was looking through the email notifications of messages posted here, and it all just seems very confusing.

I'm circling back to confirm that the "Contributor: Lifetime Bio" Badge only counts Mini-Bio submissions, birth and death date contributions are not currently considered for this badge.

Regarding what ACT mentioned about mini bio author field linking back to the contributor profile, it's easier said than done, I guess. On a related note, I was disappointed to find that the title FAQ system that emerged after swiki was retired doesn't allow linking to anything other than title pages and name pages (via respectively "tconst" and "nconst"). We need to be able to do "cconst" and "uconst" too, at least.

This goes especially to ACT 1, for linking me my bio author page, which I have pinned in a folder now, just to make sure - and to keep track of this specific kind of submission 👍😊

As you see, I didn't have a mini bio author link, so I couldn't supply one - didn't even know what you were talking about. I hope that is fixed now ?!

BTW: Does the same thing work with plot authors, too? Based on the link you supplied to me with my bios I searched for myself as a plot author - didn't find anything, except for plot summaries; but I am talking about every plot I've submitted so far. So far, in order to keep track of that data, I always count through my update history, hoping the count is right - for in the UH every submission is counted, of course, but it doesn't say if one has been declined, unless you click on it.

@ Michelle: Yes, thanks to ACT 1 I have figured that out, too. So, I think the other submissions will go into Lifetime total? Anyway, I agree with tatjana, as long as they show up in the monthly list. But still, I consider Birth and Death Dates to clearly be biographical data, so I don't really get it why they aren't counted there ...

I have pinned my links in a special folder, because I do not like how it would look in my bio.

According to the Bio-List, I now have crossed the 750 mark, (so it should be updated soon) and #750 was none other than the greatest writer Germany has ever had. And a special favorite of mine 😍

Next stop: 1000, till the end of the year...
