Anybody Know How to Totally Delete an IMDb Account?

I have been an active reviewer for IMDb for the past 11 years (with 3617 movie reviews to my credit), but the censorship has gotten so bad lately that I am looking for a way to delete my entire account for good—to include all ratings and reviews. I tried hitting the "delete" button on the settings account, but it didn't work. So, if anybody has any other ideas, could you please let me know. Thanks.

That sounds like a reasonable idea and Col. Needham's comment is generally true as, more often than not, my reviews seem to get held up due to key words or phrases that IMDb wants to ensure that they don't violate certain rules of conduct. I understand that. For example, I believe there are some words that trigger a review even in the most innocent or ambiguous of circumstances. For example, I once tried to describe the Yakuza as being similar to a crime organization from Sicily. You know, the same type of organization Don Corleone may have been involved with. Apparently, it held up my review for over 36 hours. I don't know, but it just seems kind of...what's the word...minor? Or another time when I used "brackets" to further explain a situation, without realizing that it wasn't allowed. I honestly don't know why. It was only when I changed it to a parenthesis that my review was finally accepted. So, I guess that was the problem. But maybe not. I am not a vulgar person and I reject racism, sexism and all kinds of other "isms" by and large. So, to have one of my reviews held up or denied for something that was never intended as such feels...I don't know...insulting? But maybe that's just me. Anyway, thanks for the comment. I appreciate it.

@james_a_burgin Sorry to lose you if you go ahead with the account deletion, but instructions are available at https://help.imdb.com/article/imdb/general-information/how-can-i-delete-my-imdb-account/GTW9WRASRV82U9KT -- if this is generating an error instead of deleting your account, then please let us know what you are seeing in terms of error messages.

We think our review guidelines are as clear as we can make them and they contain plenty of examples (much more than many other sites provide) -> https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/contribution-information/user-review-guidelines/GABTWSNLDNFLPRRH

Looking back at your posts on Sprinklr, we do not see any recent issues reported by you.  We are happy to look at any reviews which you submitted which you feel were incorrectly rejected.  It is possible that the team have made mistakes and we can only learn from those if we are made aware of them.  We do tend to play things cautiously for the protection of readers of the reviews.

We see that one of your past issues has been processing times, but you can always check those generally at https://contribute.imdb.com/times or specifically via the contribution tracking link in the email receipt for each review.  Due to variable workloads and staffing it can take time for us to get to everything, but we are always working on making improvements to the process.

Hope this helps and we hope you reconsider your account deletion.
