I just came to complain about this, but then I saw there is a Compact View option, so I'll probably get used to it.

I can see it, and initially find it a little scary - that bold type - but change is always scary. I remember when the board last had an update, I disliked it at first, but I'd forgotten what the old version looked like in a couple of weeks.

I've just seen that you've changed the page shape when adding a cast, for example. On the other hand, the “Warning understood, go ahead anyway” option used to be visible as soon as you were on the page, so you could click on the option right away and use the hook to go ahead. Now, we have to scroll down each time because this option is a little lower, which delays entries, thus reducing our data entry productivity. On 20,000 entries per year (on my side), you're increasing one more manipulation that we didn't need to do before, and if you multiply that by the number of people across all your global members, that's a big waste of time. Can we go back to the old version from 2-3 day ago, which was more efficient? thanks Note: This comment was created from a merged conversation Link : https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/imdbprocom/recent-shape-changes-during-data-entry-less-efficient/681cec6c8c51401937955ea8 Title : recent shape changes during data entry, less efficient

It does look cleaner, although the "compact view" could do with being more, erm, compact.

I really don't get how this is "cleaner and less cluttered". The permanent "Recheck" and "Save for Later" buttons on my screen take up space. Sure, I get that "now you don't have to scroll to the bottom to click 'Recheck'", but you never had to before. If you hit the 'enter' button on the keyboard it automatically rechecked. Also, getting rid of the black outlines causes the colors to washout and blend into the white. This causes sections to blur together making it hard to see where entries are. Most importantly, the permanent "Recheck"/"Save for Later" button box covers up spaces that you are working on. I frequently use the tab button to advance to the next box when making updates, and the buttons are overlaid to the editable boxes at the bottom of the page meaning I have to scroll down to get them to come up from behind it. If nothing else, that needs to be fixed. This "update" really just seems like a solution in search of a problem that no one had.

I noticed the change of the contribution form with Firefox on my laptop a few days ago. I got very annoyed, mainly because it was less compact. Since I had not seen this announcement, I was not aware of the "Compact View" setting. Several hours ago, I did a contribution from my phone (using the desktop site), also with Firefox, and got the usual contribution form, so I started to think that something got wrong on my laptop. Then I tried with a new Firefox profile, and got the usual contribution form, like on my phone. As I thought that some kind of bug was introduced by some cookie in my normal Firefox profile, I cleared the cookie and site data; then I now get the usual contribution form as I wanted. So I'm wondering whether the new design got rolled back.

Following the recent page updates, contribution boxes are HUGE and all series entries are double spaced, bordering on un-usable, due to much scrolling being needed for even just a few entries. I did not change anything on my laptop. Is anyone else experiencing this problem, or able to give some advice? I have discovered a usability formatting bug for the quote-addition page. If there are several speakers and they are selected from the cast list, the drop-down for selecting the speaker for each line of the quote only displays one name. https://i.postimg.cc/W1xZDgV9/Image1.png The old quote-addition page displayed multiple names which made it easier to select the correct one. This is certainly the case for Firefox. I can't test it in MS Edge for comparison, because on my PC, Edge is given the old page layouts rather than the new ones.

In the former version of the form, each section had a "question mark in a circle" icon to link to the submission guide for that section. Now, however, there is no such link available. Could IMDb please restore the submission guide links, to encourage data contributors to follow the guides?
