A faux TV series collecting all the cartoons Tex Avery made for MGM

Tex Avery (1942-1958)

I just posted about a faux Tom and Jerry series, and now I find this.

I'd like to see IMDb make it possible to contribute a series that allows only dummy episodes to be created. These would be episodes that link to the original title, but allow no other information to be added.

It's clear that contributors and users badly want IMDb to list these kind of series. I'd like to see that happen, but only with dummy episodes that link to the original titles.

Barney Bear (1939-1954)

Here's the Barney Bear shorts being treated as a TV miniseries.

Hi jay_spirit -

I'm not familiar with this series/titles, to clarify, is this a non-existent series and the listed episode titles should instead be listed as standalone title listings on the site?  Or, is this a legitimate released series that re-aired previously released film titles, in which case the episodes should then be listed as shell episodes?

This series does not exist.

There was never a TV series called BARNEY BEAR.

"Barney Bear" was a series of theatrical shorts. These shorts appeared on various TV shows, but they never appeared in their own TV series.

The series should be deleted. The "episodes" should be merged into the original theatrical shorts.

The original theatrical shorts are already listed in the database.

"Tex Avery" is not the name of an existing series.

This series is also fake.

And again, the series should be deleted, and the "episodes" should be merged into the original  theatrical shorts.

(The theatrical shorts are already listed.)

I like the idea about dummy episodes. It would be great for series such as https://www.imdb.com/title/tt12578922/ and https://www.imdb.com/title/tt12579042/, which I tried to merge all the separate short listings into, but it seems that some are thought of as separate short films, especially ones that had their own limited releases before being streamed as part of the series.

Also posted the issue about the faux series here, having forgotten to do a proper search first:

Jay: I didn't see this thread before, but I have also posted about similar problems at this thread:

It's clear that contributors and users badly want IMDb to list these kind of series.

Well, people can already list them by creating a list. Also, on the name page for Tex Avery, there is a list of titles he made. So I'm not sure adding more and with that perhaps cluttering and/or confusing titles will help. (and of course, for quite some titles, IMDb also has the movie connections: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0041349/movieconnections)

Apart from that and for me personally more important, I think IMDb could and should do more in preventing wrong information from making it online (an example of something IMDb could do: https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/data-issues-policy-discussions/blocking-tv-shows-that-cant-be-that-old/5f4a79f28815453dba91e84c ). After all, if IMDb would've blocked more of these wrong titles in the first place, we wouldn't even be having this conversation.
