This was handled just a few days ago by Fran. What's the deal with these blindly duplicated, mostly wrong UAE entries popping up everywhere, even before anything else most of the time? Is this something done by imdb system? Or just an easy way for some contributors to get thousands of submissions and became top contributor without effort?

Michelle deleted it from here too, when it was even the only AKA listed, after I proved the title known and released in that locale is not that blindly duplicated original title, but I see it's popped up there again too.

So frustrating it's never possible to correct these without staff intervention.

Hi mbmb -

I vaguely recall this issue from a week or so back. Can you re-confirm the source you used to verify that the United Erab Emirates title is "As If"?  In the meantime, I will investigate the recent changes.

@Michelle I didn't say it was "As If" (that's the English title, not relevant with UAE submission).  I don't understand why I'm getting this question continuously when I don't claim anything like that. In previous thread Fran asked me "does it need to be changed to As If" and I suggested her to click the evidence link provided, then she said OK and deleted the entry.

Is there a problem with seeing explanation boxes within submissions?

See, you had deleted it from here too but immediately re-appeared: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt15868154/releaseinfo

Is this a job of an imdb software?

Hi @mbmb -

My apologies for the misunderstanding, it seems I forgot the details of the original alternate title request.  As I understand the issue at hand, there are duplicate alternate titles being added for a single region, is that correct?

There is currently only one title listed for UAE, I have now removed the duplicate title listing for the Philippines.

If there is a further outstanding issue that I misinterpreted, let us know!

@Michelle UAE entry is wrong, inaccurate. I linked official site showing the correct title for that region, I also wrote it in explanation box. But like I said in explanation box, it's not possible for users to actually add that title in contribution form, that's why I wrote this in explanation box to the editor: "you have two options: either correct it yourself to this title, or delete this entry"

Current title is blindly duplicated from the original title, that's why I asked if it's done by imdb software for some reason because these blindly duplicated inaccurate AKAs are popping up everywhere. If it's not imdb itself then a bot someone uses to get thousands of submissions without effort I guess.

This another title was handled by you previously if you remember, I showed you links showing that blindly duplicated AKA entry was inaccurate: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt15868154/releaseinfo

But you can see that's reappeared too. I just don't see any value in these blindly duplicated entries, especially when they're mostly inaccurate. it's like cheating if it's not done by an imdb glitch.

Hi @mbmb -

I'm currently investigating this further, as soon as I have an update I will provide the details here.

@Michelle 220312-005308-630000 - I created this title page recently and a nonsense AKA immediately popped up and editors were "unable to verify" this submission very fast, within a few hours. That is just a blind duplicate of the original title which is Korean, nothing is English about it. it's like someone is using a bot to add some random AKAs by blindly copying it from original title. And why are they treated like they are untouchable holy things? Editors are not having a problem deleting my evidence-supported contributions added by a real effort when someone makes an invalid deletion request or for example you don't have a problem with a factual release date deleted and you're keeping it deleted for a month and you or other employees will keep saying "we are still investigating" for months or years until it's forgotten, but I try to delete this nonsense AKA duplication added by apparently a bot, they are like "noo, we should protect it at all costs, no power can delete this sacred item, IMDb's life is tied to existence of this random useless duplicated inaccurate item added by a bot, it can never be deleted, we are "unable to verify" this request sorry, we "can't verify" it's not English like you claimed sorry, we will protect this item at all costs no matter what"

Hi @mbmb -

My apologies for the delayed reply, I'm circling back to help resolve these older, missed threads.

I have now removed the reported AKA title on this series.  Concerning the over-arching issue with incorrect AKA titles being applied,  I originally reached out to the team responsible for visibility and to highlight these issues.  I also recall that this issue was also discussed in another more recent thread.  Since the title inaccuracies reported here have been addressed, I will close this thread and review the more recent thread to address any outstanding issues.

@Michelle I don't see UAE entry on this submission handled which is the submission in first post: 220301-193345-671000

Like I said in explanation box, if you can correct it to this, correct it: وكيف لا؟

If you can't do it as well (normal users can't do it), then delete it because it's an inaccurate duplication.

And yes, this was also discussed in another thread where Col Needham posted very useful and informational replies, issues pointed on that thread were fully solved so you don't need to seek that thread. I also think this activity is somewhat reduced after that time. I don't see for example "untitled x project" kinda things duplicated to different countries that much at least. (only saw that "untitled x project" duplication to many countries thing once recently and had no issue cleaning them this time, they were approved easily, so there's some improvement with processing these requests)
