Hi Daniel,
Let me turn this post into an idea so our staff and other IMDb users can vote on it.
This will allow us to measure the level of interest and may help with future improvements.
Problem is nobody is completely sure what a "3d film" is, much less a "4d" film. Some people think Toy Story is a 3D cartoon (film) because the style of animation is not "2D", like say "The Lion King". Videogames are often "3D", but some older ones mostly are "2D platform games". Of course they are not "real 3D you watch with glasses", but the 3D name tag is applied the same for those types of non-2D videogames."4D" films are often used for theme park "ride" type of films which are often 3D plus they may or may not have some additional "interactive" devices in the theater such as moving seats, wind-generators, water-spray or whatnot. At the moment, I think they would also be included in the "3-dimensional" tag, unless they are not in 3D and just regular 2D, but marketed as 4D, theme-park-ride type of films.Most "3d films" the way you probably mean I think can be found under the "3-dimensional" plot keyword. You can also check the "ride-film" plot keyword tag to see if you find more of what you are searching for. Welcome to try the "3d" tag as well. Not sure if there is a "4d" tag.
@jusa
And by "tag", what do you mean?
There is already a keyword for 3D:
https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?keywords=3d
And for 4D:
https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?keywords=4d
Users contribute these keywords.
I'm not sure why Sally thought this needed to be an Idea.
The ability is already in the system.
@bderoes Yeah, by "tag" I meant "keyword".Also, depending on what you are looking for, you might find better results with the keyword "3-dimensional"https://www.imdb.com/search/keyword/?keywords=3-dimensional
