This past week, we launched a new feature: an email when a title on your Watchlist goes into wide release in theaters. We are beta testing this feature so we’re currently limited to US wide releases and have subscribed all IMDb customers who have a Watchlist, have told us that they are in the United States, and haven’t opted out of emails.
We’re only sending an email when a title on your Watchlist is going into wide release, so you may not get an email each week – in fact, you may not ever get an email if the titles in your Watchlist aren’t being widely released. We hope that’s not the case!
If you don’t live in the United States (or haven’t told us that you live in the US), but would like to be a part of our beta group, you are welcome to subscribe to the email by checking the box next to “Watchlist Updates” in the email section of https://secure.imdb.com/register-imdb..., but be aware that the emails we’re sending now are for the US theatrical wide releases. If you do not wish to receive the email, you can unsubscribe by going to the site preferences page and unchecking the box.
Other than creating theatrical release emails for other countries, next versions of Watchlist-related emails that we’re considering are: Watchlist titles coming out on DVD/Blu-ray, Watchlist titles newly available to watch online, Watchlist titles available on TV this week. If you have suggestions for other types of events that you think would make good notifications, please reply to this thread and we’ll take them into consideration.
This post says it's from 7yrs ago, Oct2012. I've put plenty not yet released titles in my watchlist but have never gotten said emails! I think IMDb gave up and bowed to Rotten Tomatoes, Fandango, or Redbox or whatever and pulled this notification process! It would've made their website STICKIER and would've made me consider buying IMDb Pro monthly.. Grumble. >=^[.
put a little sign for example on the cover of the tv show in the watch list as soon as the new episode has aired. you should be able to make it disappear by clicking on it as soon as you have watched it somewhere so you can wait for the next episode to be announced.
i have this idea, where users can get the reminders of their favorite TV series episodes once its released. its simple just click on the next week episode reminder and you are good to go you will be reminded once its gets released. it is useful for the people who watch lots of TV series who cant remember the release dates. pardon my English. :( and this idea is Trademarked. contact me for srikanthrajj@gmail.com
This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Subscribes TV series.
Is this possible to "subscribe" TV series? If I subscribe TV series or if some TV series is in my Watchlist I will get info about new episode. Example: tomorrow some TV series releases new episode (e.g. s01 e05) - so tomorrow I will get a notification (or at this page, or via email) that "today new episode s01 e05 of Dragon-ball has been released". Is this possible?
Suggestion: Feature: Users while signed in and viewing a particular movie or series title could click on, "Remind Me When Out on DVD" so that they could eventually be emailed and told they can now purchase the title on a disc, to own for example from Amazon.Com :) -From, Peter in San Diego CA
I love watching TV-Series and I am following more than 35 of them. Some of their new season will start in a month, some will start within 9 months or so. I can't keep up with that. Can you add a section so that we can easily track which series and episodes is coming up (only the ones we follow). With that section we could get e-mails or notifications even
Me too.
Btw if you have a DVR and subscribe to a Series, eg all airings of set title, any time, any day, and end at five minutes past show.. You need not worry about getting email notifications from IMDb about tv and Netflix series' ;)
I have a number of TV shows and some upcoming Movies on my Watchlist and it would be an excellent feature improvement to provide a notification setting (email, RSS feed, etc) of changes to items on our Watchlist.
If I have a TV show on my list that is on hiatus for a year (think GOT, waiting till 2019) I would love to receive an update when IMDB has a release date for the first episode in the new season. Maybe a weekly digest email that would let us know what is happening with our Watchlist items in the next 2-4 weeks (X show was canceled, Y show will start back up in 2 weeks...)
It would be great to have a Bluray releases alert so you know when your favorite movies are available. Maybe even customized by director, actors or keywords, so you refine it to your taste, instead of having to manually pick them out.
The Watchlist is a nice way to check up on upcoming films. However, since I don't often visit IMDB, I thought it would wonderful if a notification feature was added to remind me that a movie in which I'm interested is coming up for release soon. Amazon does this with authors, so I thought it would be an extremely valuable tool for those of us with Watchlist items. I would suggest that a week or two prior to a release, an automated email be sent to everyone who has that movie on their Watchlist.
I think IMDB app should sent notification whenever a movie/series on my watchlist is aired. I'm sure i'm not the only one adding movies to my watchlist months before they air and then forget all about them, so I think this would help many people.
It would be great if it was possible to receive (maybe e-mail) notifications about local release dates for movies added to watchlist (both when the release date becomes known and when that date comes)
