Video: Add English subtitles for trailers
I believe every movie trailer should have English Subtitles for every movie trailer since ADA has passed the law that requires any online streaming sites such as NetFlix, Vudu, CBS, ABC, Fox, Hulu, YouTube must provide English Subtitles or Closed-Captioning for those people who cannot hear those videos due to hearing-impaired. It isn't fair for all those people who have hearing impaired cannot enjoy watching movie trailers without English Subtitles. I hope you guys at IMDB.com can do something about it. Thanks for your time.

I fully support IMDb implementing guidelines from the American Disability Act for not only the hearing impaired, but for the visually and other physically impaired individuals.
Please review and like (+1) my suggestion if you agree.
ADA Comment for Visually Impaired

The legislation that requires closed captioning for videos is part of the CVAA.
This is a summary of the CVAA:
21st Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act (CVAA)
Twenty-First Century Communications and Video
Accessibility Act of 2010 - Pub. L. 111-260

This is an index of the laws and regulations.
Disability-related laws and regulations implemented by the FCC

This is the section of the regulations regarding closed captioning. I've quoted the section regarding deadlines for video programming on the internet.

I truly feel that EVERY film trailer on a site the size of IMDb should have the option to turn on Closed Captioning! Period.
And every Film or TV show should have basic English subtitles.
It would be awesome to start adding subs for other countries, too. Everyone deserves to enjoy a trailer clip or a film equally- regardless of our (dis)abilities!

As a deaf person I rely so much on closed captioning, you guys have LONG time to fix this, and yet I still don’t see anything! I will continue to make noise if you have not done yet so! This is basically a violation against the very basic human rights for the deaf community! Please ADD! Also I realized I have two accounts sorry about that I will use this one from now on.

To whom it may concern,
I am writing to you as a British Sign Language user and on behalf of all Deaf people. I am disappointed about the lack of subtitles or closed captioning on all of your movie trailers that are released.
This makes us feel that we are being excluded and as your customers we are being ignored and not valued. It means we cannot access information that everyone else can about the content of the forthcoming movies.
Please can you review this, in order to give us the same experience as your other customers who are not Deaf.
Yours faithfully,
Luke Collins-Hayes

I was trying to actually just get this message to whoever runs the pages, but hopefully one of you can help. Do you happen to know if the trailers for films and shows can be closed captioned? If so, how do I activate them? If not, could we have this addressed?

Why on earth aren't your trailers Closed Captioned? 1 in 20 people is Hard of Hearing or Deaf enough to need Closed Captions. Everything aired on TV in US and Canada (unsure about other places) is REQUIRED to have captions, why doesn't IMDb hold themselves to these standards, or at least provide CC to popular videos? Choosing to provide no CC at all shows complete disregard for the large Deaf community.

Agree with everyone here 1000%!
It is long-past time for IMDb to honor all the HoH and d/Deaf viewers and bring Closed Captions to ALL of its video content, including ALL the older vids, too!
If the IMDb Powers That Be want ANY hope of ever competing with the major players in the Streaming & Content Creation sectors then they must GET WITH IT! The longer they wait... the less we want to watch. Srsly.
Please, ask all your friends and family to come to this post and add their own comments in support of CCs on this site! Ask them to be sure to like all of the posted comments here, too! THAT should catch some exec's attention, FINALLY. Or do we need someone to file a suit for violating Accessibility Laws? In multiple Countries?
SOLIDARITY.
Bring us CC's!
N-O-W.
