Use of API for personal project

I wanted to create a script to add some details to a log of movies that I have watched or want to watch. I went out to sign up for an API key on AWS and I see that my options are a one month key, or pay for a subscription (which is VERY expensive). Is there another way to access the API data? Is it possible to renew the key each month? Or is there a better way to access the data?

Thanks!

@odin  There’s another way to think about this which might be helpful … have you thought of using the functionality already available in IMDb to achieve the same tracking aims?  Please see https://help.imdb.com/article/imdb/track-movies-tv/lists-faq/GNQMN47VZSE7KW38 and to some extent advanced title search with help at https://help.imdb.com/article/imdb/discover-watch/using-the-advanced-search-feature/GLUEUYWPQNPTEVPU

I use IMDb for these purposes and, of course, I am biased but please see a fraction of my list tracking and ratings history at https://www.imdb.com/user/ur1000000/ (I have hundreds more private tracking lists and bookmarked ATS queries).  You can also export list contents to files which can be imported into Excel and other software.

I am trying to add this data to my Obsidian vault. The lists on the website would not integrate well with that system (I don't think).

I was uable to view your ratings history stuff for some reason.....

@odin I have seen and rated nearly 14,000 movies and I have hundreds of lists so it takes a while for that page to load :-)
