Top 250

Hello. I have a question.
Why do movies and shows in their respective top 250 list show different ratings when you actually click the show?
Chernobyl on the top 250 list is 9.3
You click the show and its 9.4?
There are plethora of examples like this. Such as spiderman no way home, 9.0 on the page. 8.8 on the top 250.

Thanks

I have been looking at the IMDb app on my phone and for the last week I have noticed that the top 250 list has ratings out of order. For example a movie with 8.6 will be below a movie with 8.5 or a 8.4 will be lower than at 8.3

Even some movies are displaying the wrong ratings when compare to the laptop version

When will this be fixed?

@Leestoy00 Thanks for the question. Your new question is actually a variant of the one you asked above in December.

On the site on https://www.imdb.com/chart/top/ we show the special variant of the rating used to calculate the Top 250 placement.  On the app we show the titles in the Top 250 in the same order, however, due to a technical limitation, we show their usual (non-top-250) rating.   If you look at the site vs. the app, each title’s position in the top 250 should always match.

We will look at adding this to the FAQ.  Thanks for raising this.

Hi Col

thank you for your response. I have noticed this only recently though, was there any reason why this was decided to be the best option for a change ?
