Still Frames, added to movie pages, missing from actor pages.

Everyone on this planet has a list of actors they like, and when they visit the page for that actor they would like to see screen captures for each movie or TV series, without all the 'official' garbage, and actors who were not even in the movie. This photo album may then motivate a purchase, or at least a review of the video. After uploading thousands of frames, taken from movies and TV series, I was stunned to find none of my uploads on the actors page.  I also found tons of junk, and duplicates of promotional material, on the movie pages. Some of the photos taken by the studio photographer are awesome, but too many of the non-capture photos are useless, and clutter up the album.

What is the point of this website, because it is not fan friendly. Nor does this website make it easy to purchase movie or TV episodes.  I should be able to go to an actors page, click on a photo of the actor in a movie I have not seen for decades, be taken to the movie page, and then to a sales page. Your statistics and cross-references are great for researchers and geeks, but this should also be a fan website. Thus, visiting IMDb is a waste of time for consumers.

I will not contribute another second of my time until I see my efforts utilized more wisely.

I'm not sure I got an actual Idea from your post. Seems more like a complaint. Can you rephrase something as an Idea that might be implemented if others voted for it?

Some time ago, IMDb seems to have run into trouble with allowing contributors to post images to Name pages, so they've restricted that function to people who claim the page and pay the yearly fee to manage the page. So, while images posted to Titles are google-searchable for Names (if names have been tagged to that image), such connections are not automatically made within the site any more.

So far as trying to buy or watch a title on IMDb, that doesn't seem to be a goal of the site. Even product links to "parent" company Amazon pages for titles are frequently absent or wrong, and difficult for contributors to get corrected. (There's a process, but links don't always appear after the process is followed.) If you don't use an ad-blocker, there is a link tucked away in the lower right column to search for the title on Amazon. Here's what it looks like when you do use an ad-blocker:

Maybe your complaint could be partially satisfied if the title's poster appeared next to each title on a Name page, much like a search result. But that gets bulky, so it's tucked away in the upper right column's "Explore More", which includes alternate ways to look at the filmography.

Has IMDb articulated anywhere why they do NOT automatically include photos from Titles on the linked Name page? A lot of images on older pages come from titles; I don't know if they were automatically linked, or contributed separately to the Name page back before Name images had to come from a paying manager of the page.

I doubt that $150/year from Name managers is making the bank for IMDb. I view it as a disincentive to guard against trolls spamming Name pages with inappropriate images.

As a poll-maker, I'd assume you'd use google to find images within IMDb. I have a template saved for that, although I rarely use it (and because I rarely use it):
name imdb mediaviewer
where "name" needs to be the person I'm searching for, and then select the Images option of the search. A title could be included too.
Here's an example of an actor who has no images on his page, but does have images on IMDb:
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0174437/
https://www.google.com/search?q=nick+condos+imdb+mediaviewer&sxsrf=ACYBGNTGocBM2UVfBCmHLpSABfxsGrpuvg:1573451191366&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiuq9S6uuHlAhWjSt8KHWVRByUQ_AUIEygC&biw=1364&bih=665

Of course, there are plenty of images that include a person, but haven't been tagged with that person's Name, so that google search may not find those.

Why should one go outside the database for a search within the database?
Today I had to open a new bottle of vitamins, and it was terribly involved, due to many layers of protection. I'm glad for the protection, and remember well the history (name-brand pain reliever had poisons added by post-production tampering) behind these precautions.

I believe that IMDb removed the auto-linking of images to Name pages because of past vandalism to Name pages. If they provide a search capacity, it makes vandalism via Title pages much more attractive.
