Search for two genres in one search

How can I search for Horror or Thriller movies in Advanced Title Search? I mean to also show titles that are Horror but not Thriller and vice versa.

@Camita  You can do this but it does require a manual edit of the URL.  Use advanced title search to find titles which are both Thriller & Horror plus whatever other filters and sorts you require, then insert a “!” in front of either the word “horror” or “thriller” in the URL.

For example -> starting at horror & thriller with -> https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?title_type=feature&genres=horror,thriller&count=250 you can edit the URL to get:

https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?title_type=feature&genres=horror,!thriller&count=250 (movies which are horror but not thriller, sorted by popularity)

https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?title_type=feature&genres=!horror,thriller&count=250 (vice versa)

Hope this helps.

That's not what I meant. In advanced title search, when I check Horror and Thriller, the result showing only the titles that have these two genres together, which is not what I'm looking for. I want the result to be titles that are either both genres, or one of them alone.

@Camita

I am almost certain that you can't do that. (Although @bderoes is the queen of search workarounds and might know a way.)

You will have to do 2 consecutive searches, one for Horror and one for Thriller. Of course, those titles than belong to both genres will appear in both result sets.)

They could use one of my links above to avoid that :-)

@Col_Needham right.

@Camita , you should do the two searches suggested by Col sequentially; this will avoid duplicates.

@NYVKE (and the original one too to catch the titles which have both genres, so three searches in total).

Right. We need to make an OR, I made an XOR 😣

If it's not possible now, then please consider it as a suggestion. It will be so useful because I would like to use it also for countries and languages.
