Recommendations: "People who liked this also liked..."

I have a suggestion re: the section found on each film's page entitled "People who(m)* liked this also liked..."  While this may be helpful to some people at some times, I personally feel that my suggestion would be far more helpful to a larger number of IMDb users. Specifically, I'd like to see a section entitled "For more movies/films like this, check out..."

*Call me a stickler for correct English grammar.

I have three reasons for suggesting this: 1) after watching a film that I liked, I'm more likely to want suggestions re: films of the same or a similar genre; 2) in almost every single instance, when I look at the list of films found in the "People who liked this also liked...," said list runs the gamut from one end of the movie spectrum to the other, often (most likely, actually) it goes like this: on the "Dazed and Confused" page, the list of films that "People who(m) liked this also liked..." contained the following: "Y Tu Mama Tambien"; "Friday"; "50/50"; "Swingers"; "Ghost World"; "Uncle Buck," and "Thank You for Smoking."  None of those movies is anything close to "Dazed and Confused."  As such, why would anyone care what some faceless group of people whom liked "Dazed and Confused" also liked?  Carry this to the extreme, and whatever the basis for deciding to even have such a section as this loses all relevance (if it ever had any to begin with).

For example: I have watched a minimum of 5,000 movies in my lifetime; 10,000 would not be a stretch.  So, using me as an example, if I watched "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure," and you used a list of twelve movies that I "also liked," that list could/would range from "Run Lola Run," to "The Man Who Fell to Earth," to "I Sell the Dead," to "Twelve O'clock High," to "Beach Blanket Bingo," to "Attack of the Killer Tomatos," to "MacBeth," to "Bridge on the River Kwai," to "12 Angry Men," to "The War of the Buttons," to "The Man Who Loved Cat Dancing," to "47 Ronin" (the original); to "The Commitments," to "Last Tango in Paris," to "Kung Fu Hustle," to "Vera Drake," to "The Story of 'O'," to...and on and on and on ad infinitum.  My point being this: although I "liked" many of these films what relevance does this have to the movie "Dazed and Confused" or ANY OTHER film I may have liked?

This brings me full circle back to my original suggestion/point: RELEVANCE!  Shouldn't IMDb address relevance?  Wouldn't relevance be the chief/driving concern?  That, to me, seems as if it would be MUCH more important to the users of IMDb than the completely IRRELEVANT list of
innumerable movies that the innumerable users might list?  I, for one, would much prefer a list of titles that are similar to the one that I just watched, or that I watched some time ago, and which I would like to view because they are - at least - somewhat similar (in genre, plot, substance etc.) to the title I had previously enjoyed or in which I had/have an interest.

As to what brought up this issue/suggestion: I saw a movie years ago that was similar to "Dazed and Confused," and I cannot recall the name of the film.  So, I thought "I'll check out 'Dazed and Confused' and maybe the name of that film will be listed since it was so similar."  (Right!  Good luck with that!).  If I like a certain type of film, say "The Guns of Navarrone," rather than see a list of films that run the gamut I listed earlier - that have absolutely NOTHING to do with war, I would prefer to see a list of films like the following: "We Were Soldiers," "The Battle of the Bulge," "Saving Private Ryan," "Where Eagles Dare," "A Bridge Too Far," "Patton" or "Midway."  What I DON'T want to see is a list that includes "Pinnochio," or "Priscilla: Queen of the Desert," or "The Adventures of Buckaroo Bonzai" etc.  This is NOT because I don't like those movies - I do.  It's just that I'm not currently looking for those types of movies.  Do you "feel me?"

Does anyone else have any comments/thoughts about this suggestion?  Does anyone else besides me have the attitude "I really don't give a rat's a$$ what some faceless, nameless group of people liked that have nothing to do with the movie in question?"

One last thing: after clicking "GO" I was linked to a page that had the following words at the top: "502 Bad Gateway."  Yet another issue with IMDb (or would it be with "GetSatisfaction.com").  Now, I have another, completely different, issue/problem that needs to be addressed: How do I get this suggestion published on IMDb (or GetSatisfaction.com).  Any suggestions? (I guess it is stupid of me to ask that question since I don't know if this suggestion will be seen by anyone due to the fact that I don't know how to publish it or if I will figure it out.)

Update: Finally quit getting the "502 Bad Gateway" page.  Suggest someone look into that issue.

I don't think I've ever found a movie in the "People who liked this also liked..." section that I didn't already know about or have. It really annoys me when those  "People who liked this also liked..." movies are already in one of my lists and could be one I've rated.

This section of IMDB is about as much good as the incorrect attempts at guessing a movie I've put in the search box. I know the name and year exactly and type it. IMDB however seems to always offer something else.

I also wish that the "People who liked this also liked ..." section posted movies that were LIKE the movie or TV show to which it refers.  I liked the movie "Unstoppable" starring Denzel Washington and Chris Pine, and wanted to see a list of movies that are similar in plot and genre to that movie.  Instead, that section lists 12 more movies starring Denzel Washington.  I could get a list of an actor's filmography by doing a simple of the search of the actor's name.  That example is probably not the best because many of the movies starring Denzel Washington are action movies.  But there is often a lack of relevance in that section that really disappoints.
