Ratings: "Top 10 favorite movies list" instead of "Top Rated Movies"
This may be a common request for all I know, but please bear with me. I think the current "Top 250 movies" list doesn't include a lot of good movies. I think each member should be able to select 10 movies as their "all time favorites" and a new "Top Movies List" should be generated based on how many includes they have on people's top 10 list. This is a number of inclusions as a top 10 movie, not just a rating average. I think this would screen movies better for their true qualities, as people can't just dish out random ratings, but actually have to limit their inclusion to only 10 movies. I am sure we would see a lot of forgotten gems appear once all top 10 inclusions would be summarized. One could even do top 10 for different genres (Michael Bay would need to be excluded as a genre of his own of course ;-) ). Some of my top 10 movies are "Spy Game", "Terminator 2" (!), "Requiem For A Dream", "Schindler's List", "Saving Private Ryan", "AVP: Alien vs. Predator" (!), "As Good As It Gets", etc... Some are on the top 250 list, others are not, and some are poorly rated. I don't believe in ratings, I believe in "all time favorites" as a sign of real "watchability".
