Ratings: Add notes to rated movies or watchlist

feature request: possibility to add a note to a watchlist entry or rated movie entry. This would make it possible to e.g. log who of my friends recommended a movie. Then if the movie was bad I can keep track not to listen to a person anymore.

But, would you still say, "Thanks, I'll have to check it out!"  It's difficult to do once you've gotten to that awkward point (especially if months later they ask if you got around to it!).

Because I am lazy, I'll paste what I just wrote in reply to the same question in another thread (I don't know if it applies to the other versions of the site, apps, etc.):

...if you go to your Watchlist, click the "edit" button at the top right, you'll see a field by each title listed, that says "click to add a description." There is where I do what you're suggesting.

hello bluesmanSF, when I open the listed that I can edit I don't see "click to add a description".

We currently don't display the "description" text in IOS. Adding the ability to add comments directly from the app is probably out of scope in the short term.... however, let me investigate how hard it might be to at the very least display the text comment entered via the web.

Yann: that would already be very helpful!  bluesmanSF: Thanks for your reply. I would simply say that last films I checked (on their advice) were not my taste, so that probably our tastes differ. Tastes simply differ, there's nothing wrong in noticing that right?

I agree, this function would be very helpful. As the OP mentioned, you could add notes to keep track of movie recommendations by friend, but also if there was a specific contributor, theme, review quote etc that attracted you to the movie in the first place.

I would love to see this function added.
