Ratings: Add a ratings system for people

I believe that the main reason they don't have ratings for people, be it actors or directors, etc., is that it could only be valid when their work is complete. I could direct 10 Best Picture winners in a row, get a 9.5 rating average, then direct the 10 worst films ever made. At that point, all those votes I'd accumulated would not make much sense. Or, vice versa. I could make a stinker and get a bunch of 1's, then start making the best films imaginable. Sure, some people might change the 1's, but what about users who don't come back or don't like to go back and re-vote? It would rarely be indicative of someone's full body of work. Different from a film which is a completed work and can be assessed fully.

The IMDb has already implemented a Bayesian estimate for Weighted Ratings by job categories such as actor and director. This is shown at the bottom of the ratings page for a person.

To get to this page, go a person's main page. Scroll down to Filmography. Next to "Show by:" select "Ratings", and click the "Go" button.

How about a rating system for actors/actresses, star based like for the movies/shows? It would give movies more depth. For example a movie with not so well know actors could tell you if it had good actors despite a low movie rating.

i would like IMDB to allow its user to rate stars and celebrities on a scale of 1 to 10 like IMDB allows us to rate different movies and television shows

I think being able to rate directors and actors would be nice. Some actors choose to perform in bad movies (perhaps for an awful manager), but still are able to show their talent and display a good perfomance. I think this could be a way to be able to support those actors/directors (perhaps even DP or writers too, why not?) and be able to show them our support.

Hi, I think that IMDb should introduce letting people vote on a rating on actors/directors like they do for films and TV shows! I think this will benefit the site and allow people to see other user's opinions on actors/directors!

I think it would be a benefit for the users of IMDb to rate actors in much the same way users can rate titles with the 1-10 star rating. (Actually, a 1-10 star rating capability for writers, directors, and all cast and crew members would great!)
For example, when a user clicks a movie title and the cast members are displayed below the plot, 1-10 star rating, and metascore, the cast members which a user has rated would be displayed on/below the actors' image. It could help an undecided watcher to choose their next show by seeing that a certain cast member they've rated is (or isn't) in the show.
Taken a step further, an actor/cast member 1-10 star rating by the IMDb user could allow shows starring those crew/cast members to be displayed in the user's "Recommended for you".

You know how you rate movies out of 10 stars? well it's like that but with actors, I.e. you could rate Ben Affleck 1/10 stars, and you could rate Jake Gyllenhaal 10/10 stars. just an idea think it could be cool
