Not Receiving Watchlist Email Notifications

Hi IMDb Support,


I'm not receiving watchlist notification emails, even though they are enabled in my email settings.


My current settings:

  • Watchlisted Movies in Wide Release: Enabled

  • Watchlisted Shows on Tonight: Enabled

  • Weekly Trending: Enabled

  • "Account updates only -- do not send me informational emails": Not enabled

I've checked my spam/junk folder and the emails are not there. My region is set to United States.

I do receive the weekly IMDb emails, but I never receive watchlist notifications.

Could you please check if there is an issue with my account or these notification emails?

@ferimdb​  Thanks for confirming.  In that case we will need the following:

  1. Which country you have selected on https://www.imdb.com/registration/details/ 
  2. To which URL you are redirected when you visit https://www.imdb.com/profile/ 
  3. An example set of 3-5 titles which were on your Watchlist ahead of their US release dates and for which you expected notifications yet did not receive them.

This will help us trace the problem.

  1. United States. I also previously tried setting it to United Kingdom, but the issue remained the same.

Hello, I'm bumping this because I'm having the same issue and couldn't find my post from several years ago, lol. Needless to say, I'm well-acquainted with the issue. I'm based in Spain.

My last "From your Watchlist: on tonight" email was received as recently as July 10. However, it only included one show and was missing 3 others that had the same day release dates.

I have determined that the issue began as far back as at least mid-June. 

The following titles are the ones I can confirm I have not received "From your Watchlist" emails for:

We have the two following email settings: 

  • Watchlisted Show on Tonight - When a show from your Watchlist is airing, we will send you a short message.
  •  Watchlisted Movies in Wide Release - When a movie on your Watchlist is about to release, we will send you a short message. 

You can adjust this via your email preferences.

Please note that if you switched your country recently that stops you from receiving notifications as you used to do. In order to receive TV watchlist emails, you can change your country code to US. 

Please visit our help pages to find the steps to update your country code.

@Jon​ Excellent, many thanks and thanks out to @ferimdb for helping to clarify.

I've found the link to the same issue that happened 3 years ago... not sure if it maybe tmi, but def seems like the same issue. @Col was involved in the fix on that as well...
