Navigating photos on IMDb

Since yesterday, when using the photo feature on any movie. navigating or using the arrows to go from one picture to the next iis totally stuck.   The Photo informationbox underneath as well, does not want to close.    I have a sneaking suspicion i somehow got waylaid by using a mobile version of IMDB on my apple computer...? Frankly i have no clue...... Does anybody know how i got into this mess with IMDB and possibly undo it ?

Thank you !!

Anthony

Hello @PalmerEldritch666,

In order to help you, we need more information from you:

  • In which titles did you see this situation? Could you provide us with the URL of those titles?
  • Have you tried clearing cookies and cache or using a different web browser to see if you experience the same situation?
  • In order for our technicians to have a better picture of the situation, please tell us the steps you took to face this situation. If you could provide screenshots or a short video recorded it would be of great help to us.

Thanks in advance!

First of all thank you Jon for fast reply.

I will try to answer as best i can.

-The (navigating) problem (which i found out is not relegated to only the photo section) occrus for every title / movie/ person on IMDB.

- i tried clearing cookies and cache -  but that doesn't seem to have any effect on the problems with IMDB - checking  some other websites with log ins i found i get some problems there as well.

-on my mobile phone IMDB and  other websites function fine.

- i i use a different browser (i'm normally using Firefox) but i tried Safari now as well) the same  navigation problems occur.

- i am however using  a rather old operating systemversion on my Apple computer /  OS X El Capitan version 10.11.6

(i'd need  a new Apple to upgrade to newer Operating system i've been told)

i can send some screenshots of the features that i specifically have problems with in next message.

And could add as econd message with screenshot of functions that do work navigating).

@Jon

Alas when i take screenshots the mouse arrow  doe not appear in the shot.

But i can explain with each shots the features that work or don't.

In shot underneath, the X on the photoinformation bx will not close.

Likewise the 2 navigation arrows on left and right of photo will not work.

The X to close the page on left top corner will work and lead to other page /

The icon of 9 little squares will lead to page of collected photos  of De Palma or any other movie or person.

@Jon

When going to the page of collected photo's i will get like the first 100 or 80  but the page will not load any photos after that with the three dots at the bottom underneath.

@Jon

going to the main page of a person or title :

The option upcoming or previous will not work or load further except the titles that were already shown.

Likewise the options/ boxes for editing/writer or other credits will not open.

These seem to be the main problems i'm experiencing right now, though they were all working fine 2 days ago.   I might have toggled and option somewhere maybe on another site  that seemed like a good idea at the time, that cause websites to give limited access? At moment i've tried so many i don't quite know anymore what i tried or didn't.  (did try removing cookies and cache though).

@PalmerEldritch666  Please let us know which versions of Safari and Firefox you tried.  Also please try and access IMDb in a private browsing tab in both browsers and confirm the problem is still present.

Hello Col_Needham,

 as far as i could glean,

Firefox  (as my default browser) gives me version 78.15.Oesr (64-bit)

Safari version 11.1.2 (11605.3.8.1)

As i wrote previously  i'm working on a rather old operating system on Mac

OS X El Capitan     version 10.11.6

but until a couple of days ago this didn't give me any trouble with the IMDB website...

hope you can help me further...

 kind regards
