More Effective Recommendations

Primevideo has taken over IMDB, which is a great move.
But till date, even on IMDB or elsewhere can one find 
suitable recommendations using AI ( earlier fuzzy logic or algorithms ) matching rankings with other users, and then recommending unwatched new movies / shows to each other/s. One spares hours hunting for suitable videos, imagine if these if a superior quality of recommendations were available to users. Something which no one seems to have addressed adequately, Netflix is trying, but it's hardly effective.
