Make IMDb Watchlist like MediaMonkey?

I like to categorize ( I bet I am not alone)  The IMDB watchlist is too basic.   Only one edit field and no ability to categorize your own lists with fields  (besides ratings and creating another list).   1) Please IMDb don't be so stingy... throw in a few more fields that we can type into and use to sort or filter upon.   Say I want to designate movie as documentary or  "scary"  and make up my own category type  like foreign language or political, etc.  Even a field like "watched"  .      2) the notes field is weird.. you can type into it in watch list but when you copy to another list it is no longer editable.       3) GIve us  1-3 a real flexible Rich Text  fields where we can type urls.   Hey we might even want to type a link to a rottentomatoes pages.  4) The better  you make YOUR watch list capabilities the more we will come to IMDb.   5) If a list gets longer than 20 movies it is too hard to manage on the small section of the screen you give.       Allow us to manage list in separate window to see more rows in smaller font. Change columns sort in many ways.  .and maybe even being able to ignore the movie thumbnail (superfluous)    Think MediaMonkey.

Is this a "Question"?

If you made it an "Idea", people could up-vote it.

As to specifics:

2) I've never had difficulty copying between lists and editing the description field.

Do you have an example list you can share (that's Public)?

I just tried it: added text to a title in my Watchlist. Copied that title from Watchlist to another list, and had no trouble editing the comment/description.

Are you doing this on the desktop version, or in an app?

3) You can create links within lists, both in the List's description and in comments under any title. The IMDb markup is described here:

https://help.imdb.com/article/imdb/track-movies-tv/how-do-i-create-a-link-in-one-of-my-descriptions/GFC4688CN69BSF4M?ref_=helpsrall#

That and the few other text formatting supported are described here:

Here are some related ideas you might want to view/upvote/comment on:

@bderoes    Thanks for good and quick reply... You are absolutely right about edit field.   I was too hasty in my comments.

About   3)  and creating links.   I followed your example and it shows only how to link to IMDb content.   Is that the case.   Also I am not so interested in learning another markup language.    but was looking for place just to paste a url.    Atlassian has that .

Thanks for tip about ideas.  I did change my post to an idea and am reviewing the many ideas  you linked above.    Don Hamp

No, you can make links to external sources too. I do it all the time.

[link=url]

Notice that you can Edit your original post, so you can remove/rephrase the bit about un-editable comments on titles from Watchlist.
