Lists: Re-enable external links

Dear IMDb

Are there any circumstances that IMDb will grant access to external links (in particular Wikipedia) on User-lists? This is in relation to a list created a few years back, titled '2016: A Movie Odyssey' - [www.imdb.com/list/ls000643238/], where links to Wikipedia appear under the listed titles.

I know people on the poll board have had run ins with this problem before. I'd like to see it change too.

No sorry, not at the present time. This is something we would like to (re-)do eventually, however, the linking feature had to be removed from general use due to issues with spam links.

We would need to design and build a new linking / permissions system and unfortunately there are higher priority issues at the moment. We have moved this over to the "Idea" category so that it remains visible for consideration and so that other users may comment.

Thanks for your response. I must say, it is unfortunate that those who have chosen to abuse the linking feature have denied most other IMDb-users, who are respectful of IMDb policy, of a great feature. Hopefully, your moving this issue to the "Idea" category may have prove beneficial? Thanks for that.
