Is there a way to select multiple episodes?

I thought about creating a list with all episodes of a series, swiping each episode away as a way of tracking my progress. However, with over 200 episodes, adding each episode individually is too cumbersome. I’m lookin for an easier add-all option, or at least be able to select many episodes at once (to then add to a list).

@troywindhorst This is not supported at the moment, sorry.  We have converted this post into an Idea thread so that other customers can vote and comment upon it.

Seems like it used to exist via desktop/browser. I think it went away when the desktop began to become more mobile-friendly (which is appreciated—everything should be mobile-friendly these days).

Thanks for posting!  :)

I have 2 workarounds for you:

1) Use the Seen feature. Just alter the URL for the primary page of the series to replace the word /title/ with /seen/. This will give you a full list in episode number order. (Note, any episodes without numbers will be omitted from the list, such The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.)

https://www.imdb.com/seen/tt0096697/

When you mouse over the rating option, you get an extra choice of Seen.

or

2) Place each episode in your Watchlist by using the + sign on each poster. Then Move the episodes in bulk from your Watchlist to the target list.

2.5) To make this process slightly faster, use the Top Rated > Show More link to get an Advanced Title Search list of all episodes, resort them by release date, and select the Compact view to bring the eps closer together.

I hope that IMDb will consider bulk-loading Advanced Search results into a list.

#1 is interesting, but doesn’t offer much more than simply rating all episodes seen. (Please don’t think I’m ungrateful of the suggestion.)

Im intrigued with #2. I’ve added episodes to my watchlist, but in preparation for my bulk move, I’m struggling to isolate them from the rest of my watchlist titles. If I may ask, where is this Top Rated > Show More link?

Did you notice #1 includes "When you mouse over the rating option, you get an extra choice of Seen." You don't have to rate them; you have an 11th choice. And the page has the option to "Hide titles I've seen".

How many items do you have in your Watchlist?

If using this option, it would probably be helpful to move actual Watchlist items to a temporary list before collecting the titles going into your desired list.

For your purpose, it's helpful to load the eps in release date order, and Move them in that order too.

In Edit mode, checkboxes appear to the left of each title, and another one above the titles labeled Select All.

Once you've checked the titles to move, scroll back up above the first item on the list and use the MOVE button. (The target list needs to be created first.)

The Top-Rated  link is on the Episodes (Guide) page:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096697/episodes/

between the two top-rated and the beginning of Season 1. Then the Show More link is beneath the 10th Top-Rated ep.

BTW, everything I describe is on the desktop version of IMDb. I have no idea what either app looks like in this regard.

I have a 3rd longshot workaround: do a google search for another user's list of the episodes you seek. If someone else has created it (and made it public), you can poach from them. I would include the condition "site:imdb.com/list" in the search to specify that you're look for an imdb list.

  • I did notice the “mark as seen” option.
  • Presently, there are 332 titles in my watchlist.
  • While I use the mobile app most of the time, it’s mostly designed for information only. I use the desktop version for power lifting.

First, I cannot begin to thank you for your time. It is much appreciated. I’m intrigued with all the steps and the nerd in me will probably play around with it some. Unfortunately, when the steps require a bigger effort than a paper notebook and pencil, the notebook wins.

As a tv junkie, when it comes to series tracking, I usually rely on other apps/platforms. It takes IMDb + another app to do it all. With that said, maintaining a watchlist on one platform and series tracking on another is quite cumbersome. For that reason, I’m always tinkering with IMDb for better series tracking options. At the end of the day, I want IMDb to be my one-stop-shop because its data is superior to everything else.

My tracking idea is simply to add all episodes to a list and delete each episode as watched. This can be done easily by swiping left. The front end setup to create the list sounds like a chore, though.

Again, thank you for your time. I’ve learned a few things.
