Introducing: Watched Search Filters

Introducing: Watched Search Filters

We're excited to announce that Watched search filters are now available on the Advanced Title Search page for desktop and mobile web!

What's new?

You now have more control over your Advanced Title Search results. You can:

  • Include or exclude titles you've watched – whether you marked them as watched, left a rating or review, or checked in
  • Sort your results by date watched – making it easier to find what you're looking for

What's coming next?

We're continuing to expand these capabilities:

  • Android and iOS apps – bringing Watched filters to your Advanced Title Search mobile app experience
  • Lists, Charts, and Watchlists – adding the ability to filter and sort by what you have or haven't watched across collections of titles like Lists, Watchlists, and Charts

We're committed to giving you more ways to personalize and navigate your entertainment journey, please share your thoughts on what you think and how we might continue to make improvements to the Watched feature. Stay tuned for more updates!

This is useful :-)

PS: I read someone on the IMDb Reddit forum was mentioning  another app having

the possibility to logg all the dates/times you have watched a film.

(Many watch the same title every year, every other christmas, summer, etc.)

I see there is a "Date watched" in the drop down in the picture on this post.

Are there any way, or is there plans to make it possible to mark/register that  you watch a title again a second time (and 3.4.5 etc) , or is it only possible to register first date?

Thank you, @Kristin!

For your question, it sounds like you may want to look into our Check-in's feature! This feature was created for exactly what you described above, where you to "Check-in" to a movie or TV show multiple times, and optionally add a note for any details you want to capture. Details about the Check-in feature can be found on our help site here: https://help.imdb.com/article/imdb/track-movies-tv/check-ins-faq/GG59ELYW45FMC7J3?ref_=helpsrall#

Thank you again for your feedback and question, I hope this was helpful.

@Crystal  I know about that function, but how am I supposed to check in twice?

The help link you provided says nothing about multiple check-in's one one movie.

Also if i follow this from the help article you linked to:

"How do I check-in?

Checking in is easy! On almost every title on IMDb there is a yellow Add to Watchlist button. Here you can click the downward-pointing arrow which will open a new interface on your screen. Click the "Your check-ins" option to check-in this title. If you're registered with IMDb, you can click this button"

I will remove my previous check-in, not create a new one for the same title?

@Kristin, my apologies that was not helpful. Let me try again.

May I recommend the following actions: Navigate to your Check-in list page -> select edit -> enter the name of the movie or show you want to check-in to in the "Add a title to this list" search box -> select the content you want to add. You should now have that movie or show in your check-in list for today's date, and keep any earlier entries. The above instructions are for the web experience, if you are using the app the instructions are very similar, except from your check-ins list page, select the "+" icon and enter your text.

Hopefully this is helpful, let us know if you continue to have any issues.

Crystal, I don't understand neither. What is the difference between the check-in feature and a regular list? Writing the dates in the comment section of a list member (or in the check-in) isn't really useful, you can't use that metadata later. It's just text, not browsable or sortable.
