We are excited to announce the launch of IMDb’s newly refreshed movie and TV show pages! The renewed page is meant to make your IMDb experience easy and enjoyable, and its design represents the diverse interests of global entertainment fans. It sucks -

now my eyes dart all over the place just to see the cast...

what is wrong with having it as it was -  the cast all on one line?

PLEASE RETURN AS WAS

You could switch to Title Reference View for the time being, but you might find yourself bombarded with the transcription of the entirety of a movie's end credits sequence, which might be unfortunate for you.

Dear Sirs,

I'm excited to announce that new design is horrible. Not only wasted space (who likes all those rounded faces?), but information is no  more at hand. Now we have to click here and there to see data that were previously in sight, scroll pages, and so on.

User unfriendliness is the keyword for such a new design.

Who the heck got this insane idea?

Please revert to a more useful look & design.

I've now spent a few days with the new site. Still don't like it. Maybe it needs even more improving. Nothing flashes at the moment. Have you considered using many more fonts, and maybe every letter in some of the words could be a different colour? Hey, maybe even all at the same time?

More seriously, it seems from this thread that very few people have a good word for the new look. I don't really expect anyone to do anything much about it (and heaven forbid that this new release is just rolled back for desktop users) because despite what they might say, global companies don't usually give a ***p about what the punters think. I would ask though, that when in a couple of years the guys from marketing or whoever try to justify their existence by having another redesign to give the site a "fresh new look" or whatever that you try not to ***k it up even more.

Is there an option to return to the previous IMDb version? I gave the new one a shot but it failed me... thank you in advance

I really, really, reaaally hate the new site design but I use the site all the time. Is there a chance that you'll leave an option for users to still use the old design ? I think that I'm not the only one that hates this phone looking garbage.

I've been using it now for a couple weeks and it's actually pretty good. It seems they have some additional items in the credits section too for when they did "making of" specials. I miss the trivia section though. It could use more bio pictures, but only when you click on them! I wish there were a bit of a middle ground - oh wait, there was one a month ago.

Is this just me or is this another argument basic data should be compulsory.

Utterly disaster... The pervious version is far better than this, can't useful info as fast as the previous one, there is no duration info about any film or series...

@Shiva143 Thanks for the feedback. The running time is still there. Perhaps you checked a title for which we do not have this information?  Here is one which does -> https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9620292/ -- the duration is at the top of the page directly under the title (see red highlighting):

and at the bottom in the "Technical Specs" section too:

Hope this helps.

Where are the similar titles that were on the old version?

With the new UI changes to IMDB the release date for a given title seems to have vanished.  Unfortunately a lot of relevant information has been moved/hidden in a cloud of garbage (e.g. actors pictures are bigger, which is nice, but the character(s) that they portray are gone.)  Is this information being missing an oversight, or was it moved somewhere that I have yet to locate?

Never mind.  It is tucked away in the new "Details" section which shows the full release date.  At least before the year was given beside the title in parentheses.  Ah useless UI changes to justify someone's useless job.

How do I switch back? This is terrible for finding quick info on cast and I very much prefer the old version

This is awful. The old design was way better. How do I switch back?

Right now I can get the old format back by logging in to IMDb with my old (20 years now) IMDb login.

bobwolfe - I tried that but they've messed up my password ... again ... so I can't log on at all.

It certainly looks stylish, but you've just managed to show LESS information on the title and actor pages meaning I have to click around more (this is why I never liked the mobile site).

Redesigns shouldn't reduce utility so much.

@jedijesse Thanks for the feedback.  We have not removed any content from the new title pages -- do you have an example to highlight the problem?

The actor/name pages have not had a major redesign since 2010 so please can you provide more information on what you think has changed?

You may find this helpful -> https://help.imdb.com/article/imdb/general-information/why-is-imdb-displaying-differently-on-my-browser/GF2ZAR69V859XLHF

Hope this helps.

Everything has gigantic headers. Instead of a list of actors, I get these gigantic headshots that I have to scroll around (and there's definitely less of them visible then the list previously provided)

Unfortunately, I can't provide a direct comparison, because you've taken away the old version.

re: actor/name page... likely I landed on the mobile version, which has the same problem and assumed it was part of your redesign.

Please prioritize data and readability over style and flashiness. I'm here for information.

"We have not removed any content from the new title pages" NO, you just made it WORSE. The little caption photos are larger, but they're not better. And we can't see them WHILE we look at the story description. Don't you understand - the OLD format was great. We had everything we wanted. Did you pay so much money to the programmers that you feel cheated going back to the way we all liked it? Because we would all be SO happy if you could just restore that old version.
