INTRODUCING: Non-English Plot Outlines
We’re excited to announce the launch of non-English plot outlines on IMDb title pages. To see these, go to Content Settings and select your preferred language and country/region for title pages. This is the same setting that already controls which country/region you see title texts, certificates and running times for.
If you don’t have both a language and country/region set in Content Settings, then you will see plot outlines in the language selected in your browser’s preferences, and the country/region of your IP address. To switch plot outlines to a different language, simply select a different language and country/region in Content Settings.
Before the new IMDb title pages were launched, some users saw a drop-down language selector next to the title’s plot outline. This enabled users to choose which language they saw plot outlines in, and would show a button to contribute if the title was missing an outline in their chosen language. With today’s launch plot outlines are shown in your chosen language, but no contribution button is shown if the title is missing one. Instead, you can contribute missing plots through the recently launched IMDbAnswers widget on title pages. To do that simply scroll down the title page to the “Answers” section, and click the button to contribute the missing outline. Alternatively, click “Edit page” at the bottom of the title page, select "Add 1 item" next to "Plot Outlines", and click "Continue".
