IMDb plug-in for ChatGPT (IDEA)

​I just wanted to share this cool idea I had about using ChatGPT for finding movie recommendations. It's been really fun using ChatGPT for movie recommendations because you can ask for super-specific movies based on your taste or even give it very vague parameters.​

​So, here's where the IMDb plug-in idea comes in. ChatGPT doesn't have the best memory, right? As in it can only remember a small conversation and can't keep track of long-term lists. What if people could link up their IMDb account with a plug-in so that ChatGPT could check out and update their movie lists? It could even automatically add movies they've watched to a "watched list" and their personal ratings. That way, when ChatGPT gives you movie suggestions, it knows what you've seen and can recommend something new. Plug-in functionality has just been added by ChatGPT, some plug-ins that are already available are recipe website plugins and plugins like WolframAlpha that allow ChatGPT to do math.​

​I think a lot of people would enjoy having an account with this feature. Maybe you could even add a ChatGPT-powered movie chatbot to the IMDb site itself. Just a thought – it could be a super fun and helpful tool!​
